Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Huaraz - Llamac
After the breakfast we will climb aboard our private bus and leave to south side Huaraz. Passing along different small and typical towns of Recuay 3400, Ticapampa 3470, Catac 3640 and the small village Pachacoto 3700. From here we値l leave the high way and continue in the east side surrounded by a lot of straw. Here you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscape that matches the blue sky and the darked green hills, the snow peaked white mountains will match the landscape. The first touristic place will be the Patococha lake.
A few kilometers from here we値l make a stop at a small colored lake called Pumapashimin that changes its colors due to solar radiation. Here we値l be next to the big Bromeliads called Puyas Raymondi.We will have lunch, and after the lunch we値l come back to Pachacoto. Once we have gotten to Conococha we will take the east high way a few kilometers. Then we will go down until Timpoc. From here we will start again going-up along the Llamac river until we reach Llamac. Here will be our first camping.
Day 2: Llamac - Cuartelhuain
We値l continue going-up through the Pocpa Valley were is a typical peasant town called Pocpa, the last town in this Valley. After a few hours trekking we値l arrive to Pallca where we値l have lunch. From here we値l get our camping place Matacancha. Here we will see the Ninashanca Mountain 5607 masl, Rondoy 5870 masl. Overnight camping.
Day 3: Cuartelhuain - Mitucocha
In the morning after the breakfast we値l get ready and at 8 am we値l start our trek. This time it will be difficult because the climbing will take us about 2 or 3 hours. From the pass we値l go down then we値l go-up approx 30 minutes. We値l take the alternative trail to get early the camping place. So once we have arrived to our camping place we値l have time to go fishing around the lake while our cook prepares the dinner.
Day 4: Mitucocha - Carhuacocha
We値l start our trekking at 8 AM. Today it is going to be easy. After 3 hours walking we値l reach the pass where we値l have lunch. We値l walk enjoying the white peaked mountains such as Yerupaja, Jirishanca, and Siula. We値l get our camp placed.
Day 5: Caruacocha - Huayhuash
After breakfast we will start our trekking. Behind the pass there are scenic places next to the Carnicero lakes. From here a few kilometers down we値l arrive to our camping place, that痴 just next to the Jurau Lake or Huayhuash.
Day 6: Huayhuash - Viconga
After the breakfast we値l continue our trekking. Easy going-up to the Portachuelo de Huayhuash Pass. From here we値l go down to the camp place Viconga to have lunch. You may choose to go to the hot springs, 20 minutes walking down from the camp place. The others who don稚 want go to the hot springs will have a free afternoon and rest in the camp place.
Day 7: Viconga - Huanacpatay
This day we値l go up to the highest pass in our whole trip This time it will be very enjoyable because the Cuyoc Mountain will be closer to us. After getting to this pass we will go down the Guanacpatay Valley to have lunch. We値l find our camping place in the peaceful Valley of Guanacpatay.
Day 8: Huanacpatay - Huayllapa
Departure at 8 AM. This time it will be easy for the trekkers due to all going down. Stopping for the lunch at the Huayllapa river and Guanacpatay river. Than we will have to walk along the Huayllapa river rocky trail until Huayllapa village. Huayllapa is a small isolated peasant village.
Day 9: Huayllapa - Cashpapampa
We値l go-up to the Tapush pass, than we will walk down and arrive to the camp place.
Day 10: Cashpapampa - Jahuacocha
As always in the morning we値l start our trekking going-up to the Yaucha Pass. After the rest we値l continue going down along the Huacrish ravine for approx three or four hours. The Jahuacocha lake at the base of the mountains Jirishanca, Yerupaja, and Rondoy. From our camp place we can enjoy the spectacular avalanches coming down from the base of the mountains Jirishanca. Next to our camp, we値l find a typical Mountain hut for sheepherders.
Day 11: Jahuacocha Rest Day
This day is free touring. Our guide will explain the tourists many alternatives as: fishing or going to the upper lake Solterococha
Day 12: Jahuacocha - Llamac - Huaraz
We値l go-up to the Pampallamac place where we値l say good bye to the Huayhuash Mountains. A few meters down we値l have lunch, after resting for a few minutes we値l go-down to Llamac town. From here we値l start going-up to Chiquian along the Ainin river and than driving to Huaraz.
Notes:
Things that you you need to bring:
- Backpack
- Sleeping bag
- Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Huaraz for a small price)
- Strong, comfortable footwear
- One complete change of clothing (you can carry more if you afford to hire a personal porter, please see options below)
- Sweater or jacket
- Water bottle (boiled drinking water will be provided)
- Torch or flashlight and batteries
- Hat or cap for sun protection
- Sun block (sun protection cream)
- Insect repellent (absolutely important item for this hike is bug spray. Anything with a lot of DEET will do the job, anything less is simply not sufficient. Bug spray must be bought when you come to Huaraz, as it cannot be found in the neighboring towns)
- Toiletries, towel and toilet paper
- Small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits, energy bars etc,
- Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries
- Cash in soles
- Swimsuit (if you plan on visiting the hot springs at Hunacarhuaz after the trek)
- Optional: walking poles or stick rubber covers (can be hired from our office for a certain price for the 4 day trek)
- Copy of the passport
This could be optional:
- Personal horse with and extra cost
- Vegetarian meals. We can provide vegetarian meals or cater for special diets with no extra cost. Just let us know at time of reservation prior to trek departure.
- Sleeping bag hire. If you haven't got a sleeping bag or you don't want the hassle of bringing one then we have sleeping bags in our office for rent

All trek reservations must be made in advance (30 days in advance is recommended especially for April, May, June, July and August)

Notes: We will require a non-refundable trek deposit of 50% per person payable at the time of Reservation and we will confirm you by e-mail or phone your trek booking. The remaining balance is to be paid in Huaraz one day prior to your trek departure date.
