Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: El Calafate. Arrive in El Calafate coming either from Chile or from within Argentina. The evening is free to walk around El Calafate, a small town set on the edge of Los Glaciares National Park amid dramatic scenery. There is a choice of restaurants serving the typical “parrillada” and Tango bars. Overnight El Calafate in the hotel of your choice.

Day 2: Perito Moreno. In the Morning take part in a guided excursion to the Perito Moreno glacier, a very active glacier on the south arm of Lago Argentino. The Perito Moreno Glacier, a 60m-high relict of the Ice Age, creates a unique geographic event approx. every three or four years. As it advances, it pushes out across the surface of the lake, cutting the lake into two separate sections. As water pressure builds up on one side over the years, the glacier eventually explodes open with a torrent of water and a fury of calving icebergs.

Although this spectacular event no longer occurs as cyclically as it did during the past 50 years, the Moreno Glacier is constantly moving, calving, crackling an incredible sight and sound at any time. Active option: Sail across the lake towards the glacier walls and go for an Mini Ice trek. Not technical experience is required.
Later we return to El Calafate. Overnight in the hotel of your choice. Includes (B).

Day 3: Glaciar Upsala and Estancia Cristina. Early transfer to Puerto Banderas (45 min.) where we board the catamaran. Spend the whole day (10hrs) sailing Lago Argentino with great close up views of the 9km wide Upsala glacier, the largest in the area.

Disembark at Estancia Cristina, an old (1918) and huge (30.000ha) sheep breeding farm. Continue with Unimogs to the look-out point from where you have an impressive view of Glaciar Uppsala and Lago Argentino. Come back to the Estancia. Enjoy a delicious Patagonian lamb barbecue. In the afternoon short hiking to a nearby waterfall or optional (not incl.) horse-riding in the area. In the evening transfer back to El Calafate and overnight. Includes (B,L).

Day 4: El Calafate. Transfer to the airport / bus station on time for the flight to Ushuaia or Buenos Aires (Includes (B)) or the bus to Puerto Natales.
