- Weather: During our tour we can expect most days to be dry and fairly sunny, temperatures ranging from 20- 30oC, depending on altitude. Overcast weather, particularly in the afternoons, may not be infrequent, but rain is unlikely except on high ground such as Lake Nakuru, where afternoon precipitation is a possibility. Here the weather can be chilly between sunset and sunrise.
- Grading: This tour is designed for the involved naturalist. It is ideal guided overview to Kenya's extraordinary diverse bird species and an annual favorite for keen birders.
- Food and accommodation included in the price. All meals and accommodation are included throughout this holiday as indicated in the itinerary with the exception of lunch on the last day.
Tour Itinerary:
Days 1 - 2: Lake Baringo.
After breakfast we depart for L. Baringo National Park stopping on the way to bird and stretch if need be arriving at L. Baringo where we are going to be for the next two days in time for lunch. Overnight at Lake Baringo Country Club. Includes: (L, D).
Days 3 - 4: Lake Nakuru National Park.
After breakfast we leave the beautiful lake for the other world renowned Lake Nakuru National Park arriving there in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru National Park is world famous for its population of lesser flamingo and both Black and White Rhinoceros where we are going to spend the next two days looking for the different wildlife species found here including the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and the elusive Leopard.
We are going to spend the days birding, watching wildlife leaving the lodge with our packed breakfast to be back for lunch and then venturing out in the afternoon to be back to the lodge just before it gets dark. Overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Includes: (L, D).
Days 5 - 6: Masai Mara National Reserve
Early rise followed by and early breakfast and then we leave for the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve arriving there in time for a late lunch. Spend the afternoon birding and game watching at the plains of Masai Mara. All meals at Ilkeliani Tented Camp which is located at the heart of the Masai Mara. Overnight at Ilkeliani Tented Camp. Includes: (L, D).
Day 7: Nairobi
Sadly, today we have to leave Masai Mara which has been our home and wildlife theater for the last two days for a long return drive to Nairobi bird watching en route. On our eventful arrival back at Nairobi, we will refresh up at the Fairview Hotel in Nairobi and have a last meal together at the famous Carnivore restaurant, before making our way to the airport for our outbound flight back home.
