Tour Itinerary:
Days 1 - 2: Bangkok Thailand
After being Angkor Wat Temple at Sunrisemet on arrival at Bangkok international Airport you are transferred to your hotel where you can settle in and relax. Evening dinner and drinks at the hotel to get to know each other and discover the individual thoughts and expectations from this 13 day tour. The following day we visit the Royal Palace, the local Wat's, and enjoy the many markets and an un-missable boat ride along the Chao Phraya River. Includes: (2B, 2L, D).
Days 3 - 4: Siem Reap Cambodia
Take the early morning flight to Siem Reap before seeing one of the wonders of the world the Angkor Temples. Two days are spent here visiting these Khmer temples dating back to the 9th Century one of the most impressive architectural accomplishments. Includes: (2B, 2L).
Day 5: Phnom Penh Cambodia
Crossing the Tonle Sap lake by hydrofoil enjoying the scenic route all the way to Phnom Penh, after checking into our hotel we visit the splendor of the Royal Palace and famed Silver Pagoda before going to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum formerly used as a prison during Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge rein. Day 6: Phnom Penh
Spend the morning at the Killing Fields before having lunch at a local restaurant, the rest of the day is free for you to spend exploring the markets and atmosphere of this colonial city. Includes: (B, L).
Day 7: Kratie
Morning Drive Kratie, after lunch enjoy a boat ride where you will have a chance to see the rare Irrawaddy dolphins. Evening is free to stroll around this peaceful colonial city. Includes: (B, L).
Day 8: Ban Lung
Head to the Capital of Ratanakiri province, a heavily forested province and home to 12 different 'Khmer Loeu' ethnic minority groups. Upon arrival in Ban Lung the provincial capital, we check you into your hotel before trekking 3km to the Yaklom volcanic crater lake. This lake is said to be 700,000 years old set in a peaceful jungle setting. We will have a barbeque lunch here and then the choice is yours. For those who are up for it there is another short trail around the lake of about 2.5km or you can swim in the crystal clear waters or just relax by the lake. We then head back to Ban Lung in the late afternoon back to your hotel. Includes: (B, L).
Day 9: Ratanakiri Province
We head towards the Vietnamese border. Stopping in some of the Tampoun villages in order to observe the tribal customs and take in the chance to buy some authentic traditional handicrafts. See rubber trees, cashew nut or coffee Don Det Sunsetplantations before we stop at the village of Bokeo where we have some refreshments. Then head back towards Andong Meas (the gold well) to reach the superb Se San river and to have a ride in a local Dugout to discover some Jarai villages. Includes: (B, L).
Day 10: Ratanakiri - Laos Si Pan Don
Travel the newly constructed road to Strung Treng and across the border to Laos at the Voeun Kham border crossing, continue North to the village of Nakasang stopping on the way to see the largest cascade in South East Asia Khon Pha Peng waterfall. We cross the Mekong to the picturesque island of Don Khone and the center of the 4000 islands where you are booked into Sala Phae guesthouse. Includes: (B, L).
Day 11: Si Pan Don - Champasak
Early morning start from Si Pan Don where you can see the impressive Mekong Fault line, the old French railway and the stunning old colonial Bridge. We take a relaxed kayaking tour drifting downstream to see the rare Irrawaddy dolphins on the Laos / Cambodian border before heading to the Champasak where you will stay at the Anuxa guesthouse. Baggage transfers are sorted whilst on the kayaking trip. Includes: (B, L).
Day 12: Champasak, Wat Phu, Bolaven Plateau - Pakse
A morning visit to Wat Phu. This World Heritage Site was built in the 6th century by the Khmer's and was originally used to worship the Hindu god Shiva and other deity's before being converted into a Buddhist temple in later centuries. Wat Phu was considered the center of the Khmer kingdom until it was moved to Angkor Wat in the 12th century. Still an important monument today, it is visited by many people from around the world and every year hosts the three day Bun Wat Phu Champasak (Wat Phu Champasak Festival).
We then head of to see the Bolaven Plateau. A chance to see the production cycle of coffee and Tea Plantations as well as seeing Tad Fan and Tad Nyuang waterfalls. Their methods may seem a little backwards to modern day but the end result is clear to see and divine to taste. Before returning to Pakse. Includes: (B, L).
Day 13: Pakse - Bangkok
Depart from Pakse across the border at Chong Mek and onto Ubon Ratchatani for your flight to Bangkok where you can get onward connections.
