Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Croatia, landing on Pula airport, meeting with tour guide, departure towards middle Istra in medieval town Motovun, accommodating in hotel, welcome drink after which we will walk through this romantic city.

Day 2: After breakfast we will visit Hum, the smallest town in the whole World and there we will get acquainted with healing beverage biska. Recipe for that rakija is 3 000 years old and comes from old Celts. Journey leads us further to small place called Kotle place of old water mills and beautiful waterfalls. On return to our hotel we will visit family winery and taste wines like istrian malmsey that Istria is worldly known for. When we return to Motovun, we will go to typical istrian konoba and enjoy home made food.

Day 3: This day we will completely dedicate to his majesty truffle. We will visit Livade, capital of truffles in Istra where leading experts with help of presentations, video projections and tasting will acquaint us whit that king of world gastronomy. After that we will go on presentation on searching truffles in Motovuns forest. So exhausted and hungry we will brace up at dinner which will be prepared on base of, of course, truffles from hors d’oeuvre to desert.

Day 4: Today we will visit antique town Pula with all marvelous monuments like Portarata, Augustov hram and far away known amphiteater Arena. After a pleasant walk and coffee at Forum, we will continue in direction of Rovinj, fisherman’s town in which dominates church tower of St. Eufemija church. Nearby is real natural fiord, Limski kanal, well known oyster farm, where we will enjoy in beauty of nature and true coastal banquet from fresh fish.

Day 5: After breakfast we will leave Istra and go to Slavonia and Baranja. In break time we will visit little town Kutjevo and its cellars from 1232. Often even the emprise Marija Terezija was guest there. When we brace up we will continue towards Baranja. We will settle on native household and get rested for new culinary adventures.

Day 6: Slavonija is rich region which specialties like kulen (paprika flavored sausage), cakes and brandy are well known. Today we will learn how to prepare all that delicacy, and how people used to conserve food for winter when they hadn’t fridge. We will taste real domestic winter food store, ajvar, sourly vegetable and all kinds of jam. We will take a look in pusnica and taste domestic sausages, ham and, of course, kulen (paprika flavored sausage), and with that we are going to taste a home made plum brandys. After we take a rest, in the afternoon we’ll leave to Kopacki rit, protected area between rivers Drava and Danube, row with boat on oars through that splendid backwaters on banks of river, and on the open fire with fisherman prepare one specialty more, fis-paprikas. when the night falls and when mosquitoes chase us away, we will return to hotel.

Day 7: After breakfast we will go in heroic town Vukovar and visit memorials of Croatian War of Independence and how that once upon a time beautiful town only with love of its habitants is slowly getting back in normal life. Journey lead us further to Ilok, town on the banks of river Danube which is worldly know by its vines, especially fragrant traminac, wine that was poured on coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. We will visit restored wine cellars and go back to Karanac, our household where our dear hosts will prepare to us farewell dinner with sounds of tamburica, the way customs in this region order, there will be playing, dancing, singing and enjoy it late in the night.

Day 8: Last day we will visit the capital city of Croatia, Zagreb, see historical center, buy souvenirs and greet each other at airport before leaving home.
