Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Early morning arrival and transfer directly to Sun City for an early check in. Sun City is Africa's most celebrated luxury resort with numerous activities such as wildlife safaris, entertainment and a casino. Free day at your leisure. Relax at the Valley of the Waves or enjoy some of the optional excursions such as Elephant Back Safaris, Quad Biking, water skiing or archery. In the early evening you have been booked onto an exciting night wildlife game safari. Look out for the Big Five. Free evening.
Day 2: After another game drive the rest of the day is free to enjoy the facilities at Sun City. Free evening.
Day 3: After breakfast your shuttle service will take you to Johannesburg international airport for a connecting flight to George, capital of the Garden Route. We continue on to Plettenberg Bay - The Jewel of the Garden Route. Check into the Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve. Here we enjoy a Game Drive and barbeque dinner around the fire and under the stars.
Day 4: Today you will explore the dense Knysna forest, home of the last remaining wild Garden Route elephants. Enjoy a boat cruise up the spectacular Keurbooms River. A short drive brings us to Knysna, South Africa's favorite town - a nature lovers paradise. The day is ended with a sunset cruise on the Lagoon. Dinner is enjoyed at a Chinese restaurant. Accommodation is in luxury Knysna Waterfront chalets, right on the edge of the Knysna Lagoon.
Day 5: Free Day. Knysna has many outdoor options:
- Canoe up the Knysna Lagoon
- Take the Knysna Township Trail
- Hit the nature trail - on horse-back
- Visit the Featherbed Bay Coastal Nature Reserve
Day 6: After a full English breakfast, you will board the Outeniqua Steam Train, one of South Africa's last steam locomotives still in daily use. We head parallel to the spectacular Outeniqua Mountains and stop in George. We continue over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass to Oudtshoorn, principal center of the Klein Karoo and undisputed "ostrich capital" of the world. Our itinerary includes a visit to the fascinating Highgate Ostrich Show Farm where, amidst enormous flocks of these strange birds, we are shown their development from the one kilogram egg to the 100 kilogram adult. We enjoy lunch on the farm. We then visit one of the great wonders of Africa - the subterranean wonderland of Cango Caves for a tour of this vast sequence of caverns, each filled with astonishing formations of glittering dripstones. Overnight at the Oudtshoorn Inn. Free evening.
Day 7: After a visit to the Cango Cheetah Ranch we head for the Winelands of the Western Cape. There are many different wine routes each offering something special. A Winelands tour will include a visit to a wine estate where cellar tour and wine tasting session is conducted. Lunch is also enjoyed on a wine estate. We reach Cape Town in the late afternoon and check into the City Lodge Hotel situated adjacent to the Grand West Casino. Free evening.
Day 8: A visit to Cape Point will reward you with the opportunity to witness the meeting of the mighty Atlantic & Indian Oceans. Wonderful mountainous scenery is coupled with quaint seaside villages such as Kalk Bay and Kommetjie. The penguin colony at Seaforth always proves to be a lot of fun. Stops at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and optional boat rides to Seal Island from Hout Bay harbour are enjoyable options. Lunch is included at the Two Oceans Restaurant. The day is ended with a ride up the cable car to the top of Table Mountain. The evening is free for you to explore the Waterfront.
Day 9: Transfer To Cape Town International Airport for you return flight departing.
