From desert dunes to wilderness wetlands, experience the best of Southern Africa on this two-week African safari. By day, soak up the sheer beauty and diversity of Southern Africa as you explore her greatest treasures. By night, relax in the comfort of an intimate wilderness lodge as you recount stories of the day’s exciting adventures.
Explore Namibia’s vast sand dune deserts in Namib Naukluft Park on foot and by nature drive, taking in the Park's incredible views, desert animals, flora and fauna. Soar above the desert in a hot air balloon and kayak alongside seals, penguins and seabirds in Walvis Bay. Shake the sand off as you fly East into Botswana to discover the exact opposite in scenery and habitat in the wetland paradise of the Okavango Delta. Travel by foot and dugout canoe with expert guides, eager to share this fascinating environment – from its mighty elephants to tiniest reed frog. Fly north over pristine landscape to open plains scattered with palms and wooded savannas, spotting herds of buffalo, zebra and giraffe and, of course, the predators that stalk them. Wrap up your Africa sojourn with two nights at the mighty Victoria Falls.
Accommodations:
Nights 1 – 2: Kulala Desert Lodge
Kulala Desert Lodge lies in the heart of the Namib. It offers magnificent views of the famous red dunes of Sossusvlei as well as spectacular mountain scenery and vast open plains. The main lodge has a lounge, bar, dining area and plunge pool. The veranda overlooks a waterhole and provides the perfect location to view and photograph the desert sunset.
Nights 3 - 4: Langholm Hotel
An intimate family-run hotel with tastefully furnished rooms located around a central garden area. Ideally situated a stone's throw away from the Walvis Bay lagoon, golf course and swimming pool, as well as several excellent restaurants.
Night 5: Hotel Heinitzberg
A castle built at the turn of the 20th century by Count von Schwerin for his fiancé, Margarethe von Heinitz. Today it offers accommodation in plush romantic elegance. Perched high above Windhoek, Leo’s Restaurant boasts spectacular vistas of the city lights below. Savor masterfully prepared game dishes and relish fine wines from the country’s largest private wine cellar.
Nights 6 - 7: Baines Camp
This private camp is located by definition in the Okavango's seasonal delta. Each luxury suite features a large bedroom with softly draped fabrics adding the romantic touch of a bygone era. The four-poster beds are fully mobile, giving guests the choice of slumber under star laden skies.
Nights 8 – 10: Lebala Camp
Lebala camp offers casual elegance and luxury with a spectacular wildlife area. Each spacious tent is unique and designed specifically for this location. Your secluded tent has its own sun deck and is set back amongst the trees. The main lodge area has a small pool and beautiful open-air bar and dining area.
Nights 11 - 12: Sussi Lodge
