Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart from your hometown in the evening bound for Johannesburg - South Africa.
Day 2: Zingela Indela Game Farm. Arrive JHB International and transfer to domestic departures for a flight to George situated in the heart of the magnificent Garden Route. Flying time approx 2 hrs. On arrival you will depart for the farm Zingela Indela only 20 minutes from George airport. Sandwiched between the Garden Route and the Little Karoo, the magnificent scenery compliments one of the most beautiful game farms in the Southern Cape.
After a brief tour of the ostrich camp, guests will have their first taste of 4X4 driving on the route around this game farm. Quad bikes are also available. During the two-hour drive look out for wildebeest, bontebok, giraffe, eland and zebras. The trail is not difficult and will be a good opportunity to get acclimatised to your vehicle. The evening will be spent around the campfire enjoying a braai (barbeque) and a few cold beers. Accommodation is in a very comfortable farmhouse, each bedroom with it's own bathroom.
Day 3: Attaquas Trail. The drive once again begins with some beautiful mountain scenery as we wind our way up to the Attaquas Reserve. The day will be spent navigating some of the old ox wagon trails through the Outeniqua Mountains, which vary from moderate to fairly difficult. Besides some excellent scenery the area also has some interesting rock art paintings and is steeped in history. A picnic lunch is enjoyed up in the mountains. In the late afternoon, the drive takes us up to Oudtshoorn and on to Eagle Falls, a spectacular resort, set on a cliff, with magnificent views. Dinner and overnight at Eagle Falls.
Day 4: Millwood, Montague Pass, Seven Passes, Knysna. The morning is spent navigating the trails around the Millwood Reserve, The trails are moderately easy with a spectacular climb to the top of the Outeniqua Mountains. The view from up there is unforgettable. Leaving the mountains we climb over the scenic old Montague Pass and head on to the Garden Route passing through some beautiful forest scenery along the Seven Passes Road. The day ends with a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. Overnight and dinner at the award winning Knysna River Club.
Day 5: Knysna Forest - Prince Alfred Pass - Buffalo Hills Game Reserve. The drive begins with some easy driving through spectacular forest scenery. Keep a look out for wild elephants. The Prince Alfred Pass is one of the most scenic drives in South Africa. The road leading to the 4X4 trail, via the Diepwalle Elephant trail is gravel and not difficult to navigate. Burchells Ox Wagon Track has a more challenging trail. There are three river crossings with clay slate and sandstone surfaces. After rain the surface is slippery and a minimum of two vehicles should travel together. Attractions along the way include diverse fauna and flora, ancient rock paintings, trout fishing and bird watching. This is true wilderness. In the late afternoon we head for the Buffalo Hills game farm, home to Africa's big 5. After a game drive we return to Knysna for a braai at the River Club. Overnight in Knysna.
Day 6: Knysna Arts and Crafts. The morning is free to do some shopping or relax. At around noon you will be transported to George Airport for your return journey.
Day 7: Arrival back home.
