Our route takes us up and down Germany, but not only in a geographical sense. We’ll see ups and downs in German history. It showcases good and prosperous periods, expressed by medieval towns like the UNESCO world cultural heritage-listed city of Bamberg or the baroque beauty of Dresden. It also covers bad historical periods like the concentration camp Buchenwald. Cultural highlights such as Weimar will be in our program as well as the book burning square in Berlin. Besides the cities there are amazing countryside stops on our itinerary as well. We want to show you our country from our local angle - sometimes maybe upside down.

All our tours are private tours, therefore we are able to offer a great flexibility in terms of departure cities, destinations, duration and program. All according to your wishes and needs. Please contact us for a personalized tour suggestion.

Your Itinerary

Day 1: Nuremberg – Rothenburg - Bamberg

This day is dedicated to 'romantic Franconia', an area full of castles, historic towns and centuries old churches, all located in a beautiful landscape. Our first stop is in Rothenburg, Germany's best known medieval town, famous for still being encircled by its old stone wall and hardly changed over the intervening centuries. After lunch we will follow the river Aisch towards Bamberg, today’s destination. The entire city is preserved by a UNESCO world cultural heritage protection.

Day 2: Bamberg - Weimar – Buchenwald – Berlin

After visiting our 'cultural capital' Weimar (where some of Germany's most famous poets including Goethe and Schiller lived) we will visit the concentration camp 'Post Buchenwald'. The well-presented documentation center in one of the barracks provides excellent information about the dark Nazi history. In the evening we arrive in Berlin where we will spend the following 2 nights

Day 3: Berlin – Berlin

Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie, Book-burning Square and the Palest of Republic – In no other city are the ups and downs of German history as obvious as in Berlin. But there is much more to do than just sightseeing. Berlin is a roaring city renowned for its never-ending nightlife - many pubs and nightclubs are open 24 hours. But there is much more to do, than just sightseeing. Berlin is a roaring city with nightlife really all night long. Some pubs and nightclubs are open 24 hours.

Day 4: Berlin – Spreewald - Dresden

On our way to Dresden we visit the Spreewald, a unique landscape full of waterways channels and forests, located south of Berlin, where we'll enjoy a ride in a traditional boat. The Baroque and Rococo gem Dresden is well on its way to become one of the most interesting cities in Germany. Almost completely destroyed in WW II, it’s now reconstructed in its former beauty, offering a great combination of 1st class sightseeing and the life of a student town. Here we will spend the night.

Day 5: Dresden – Swiss Franconia - Nuremberg**

Today one of Germany’s most beautiful landscapes, 'Swiss Franconia' (Germans tend to name every beautiful area 'Swiss') is on our list. Besides the natural highlights such as bizarre rock formations and lovely river valleys, this area is also known to be the world's # 1 beer-producing area, with more than 300 breweries still brewing today. This is a great opportunity to give some of these delicious brews a try. Around 7pm we will return to the beautiful and historic 'City of Human Rights', Nuremberg, where our tour ends.
