This itinerary is the first portion of our Ecuador and Galapagos journey. On this comprehensive journey we stroll around Quito’s well-preserved colonial architecture, canoe through the thick Amazonian rain forest as well as experience the the pulsating Indian markets of Otavalo where you can haggle with indigenous artisans dressed in intricately embroidered shirts, skirts and ponchos. In Cuenca we soak up the colonial atmosphere of the cobblestone streets and churches. Traveling through the Andes by rail we follow a track cut into the almost perpendicular 1,000 foot cliff of the "Devil's Nose". We also set aside time to explore the ruins at Ingapirca, which boasts some of the finest remaining mortar less stonework of the Incas, before the tour ends in Guayaquil.
