Port Elizabeth is known as the “friendly city” and it is situated in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa along the Sunshine Coast. It is the fourth largest city in South Africa. East London is also known as the Buffalo City, which boasts extraordinary tourist attractions and is rich in natural resources. The Wild Coast is a 240 km strip that has come to be known as ‘the vessel graveyard’ owing to a record number of vessels that have met their end here. The rugged coast flows with magical scenery lined with caves and boulders, lagoons, and gorgeous beaches. This is a fully guided tour with an experienced driver/guide.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Port Elizabeth. Pick up at Port Elizabeth Airport and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, a city tour is in place. The tour starts out with a visit to the Bayworld Oceanarium and then the Snake Park -for a deeper look at the underworld beauty of South Africa. From there the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum and the No 7 Castle Hill Museum are among other places of interest a must see. Dinner and Overnight at the Protea Edward Hotel, near the city center.

Day 2: Port Elizabeth – Sibuya Game Reserve. After breakfast the tour departs for Sibuya Game Reserve, 120 km from Port Elizabeth that is exclusively accessed by river-boat on the Kariega Estuary.
This is an 11km cruise up the Estuary to the Game Reserve where guests can view an abundance of game and birds, including 4 of the Big 5 against the magnificent backdrop of pristine coastal forest on their game drive. Overnight at Sibuya on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 3: Sibuya - Port Alfred – Fort D’Acre. Breakfast first and then depart for Fort D’Acre Reserve near Port Alfred. Fort D’Acre is an exclusive thatched safari lodge situated at the mouth of the Great Fish River. Choose to relax in the peaceful indigenous gardens or go on a game drive to view 19 different game species, while the adventurous can be taken to Fish River Horse Safari’s where you will ride through 1200 hectares of dune forest, open grasslands, sand dunes and the un-spoilt beaches of Fort D’Acre Reserve at the mouth of the Great Fish River. Overnight at the lodge on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 4: Fort D’Acre - East London. After breakfast the tour leaves for East London via Bathurst, home to South Africa’s oldest pub -the Pig and Whistle (1832). Get to see the world’s tallest pineapple that stands on a pineapple farm in Grahamstown, also called the Cathedral City. Then on to King Williams Town which holds the distinction of being established twice within a space of 12 years. From there we continue to Bisho, which is the provincial capital of the Eastern Cape. Bisho used to be the capital of independent homeland of the Ciskei in apartheid South Africa. From here, continue on to East London for a 2 nights stay at the Blue Lagoon Hotel. Dinner, bed and breakfast at the Blue Lagoon Hotel.

Day 5: East London. After breakfast, go sight-seeing around the town: Hood Point Lighthouse, Fort Glamorgan on the West Bank, City Hall and East London Museum. The rest of your day is at your own leisure! The Blue Lagoon Hotel overlooks the site where the Nahoon River meets the warm Indian Ocean with easy access to the river and beaches, ample opportunity for swimming or a walk on the beach.
Dinner, bed and breakfast at the Blue Lagoon Hotel for the second night.

Day 6: East Landon – Wild Coast Sun. Today you get to explore the magnificent Wild Coast, named by early seafarers in reference to the sea and wind as proven by the many shipwrecks along the coast.
