During this trip, you will be staying luxuriously and comfortably in elegant hotels, where you will relish an unforgettable break as you traverse the region's varied geographical features of mountainous terrain, extensive river networks and cultural relics.

Starting in Pakse, savor the exquisite coffee and tea in the fertile Bolaven Plateau while taking in the stunning view of cascading waterfalls at Tad Lo and Tad Fane Waterfalls. At Wat Phou, you will explore the ancient temple ruins at Wat Phou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will not only enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the quaint French colonial buildings in Champassak but also ride elephants up to Mount Asa that overlooks a wide expanse of the biodiversity-rich Xe Pian Protected Area. In the evening, you will have time to wander through the night markets and look for local handicrafts.

Cruising along the Mekong River to Khone Island or "Siphandon" in the Lao language, you will enjoy nature at its finest when you encounter its intricate and beautiful system of 4000 islands and islets. Culminating in the southern tip of Laos, we will bring you to Southeast Asia's biggest waterfall at Khone Papheng, where the tranquil Mekong River give way to the seething, rapid surges as it fans out into the delta.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Pakse - Bolavens Plateau - Pakse. Be charmed by the small-town feel of Pakse, the most important town in Southern Laos located at the confluence of Mekong and Sedone River. Head to Bolavens Plateau to enjoy the spectacular view of cascading waterfalls in lush greenery at Tad Lo and Tad Fane Waterfalls followed by visits to tea and coffee plantations, where you will get a chance to savor the famous Lao coffee. Overnight at Pakse Hotel in Pakse. Includes: (B).

Day 2: Pakse - Wat Phou - Khong Island. Following breakfast, you will visit the pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Phou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning architectural flavors. Return to Champassak to explore the French colonial architecture dotting the town. In the afternoon, enjoy elephant riding up to Ban Kiet Ngong, a hillside village in Mount Asa which overlooks the biodiversity-rich Xe Pian Protected Area before driving to Khong Island (Siphandon), an intricate and beautiful network of 4000 islands and islets. Overnight at Senesothxeune in Khong Island. Includes: (B).

Day 3: Khong Island - Pakse. Today, you will visit the peaceful islands of Done Det and Done Khone for a glimpse of the only railway ever built in Laos during the French colonization. Head for the Lippi Waterfalls, a local sacred site believed to trap bad spirits followed by the majestic Khone Papheng which is considered the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia. In the evening, stop by the evening market and pick up some local handicrafts. Overnight at Pakse Hotel in Pakse. Includes: (B).

Day 4: Departure from Pakse. After breakfast, you can choose to transfer to the Thai border or to the airport for your onward flight. Includes: (B).
