Mountain Bike Adventures tours combines different skills in Cross Country. In this itinerary we present by the first time the combination between the Cordillera Blanca and Negra and making Circuit along the Cordillera Blanca.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1: After the breakfast in the Hotel in Huaraz, the group will take the Mountain Bike and Start Biking Up to willcahuain ruins, located at Northeast side of Hauaraz, 7 kilometers, while you are biking you will be followed by the 4WD car, in case you have difficulty biking, then after to get Willcahuain the bikers will continue to the Llaca Valley, and arriving to Llaca around half day. Llaca is at 4000masl in the base of the Vallunaraju Mountain, then we will visit the Llaca Lake and have Lunch, then the group will take their bikes and bike down hill until Huaraz, arriving to Huaraz around 4pm direct to Hosteal and overnight. Day 2: After the breakfast in the Hotel we will aboard the Mini Bus or 4WD car, with the bikes and taken Up to the Callanpunta Pass 4225masl in the Cordillera Negra, from here we will enjoy the nice views of the Cordillera Blanca Range, then after to have a short sightseeing and walk and some pictures, we will have lunch, then start biking Down Hill, passing by many Andean villages observing their typical lifestyle, then after to come down for about 2 and half down hill, we will arrive to Huaraz around 4pm and direct to Hotel, dinner and overnight in Huaraz. Day 3: Early in the morning the group will have taken to the Conococha pass 4100 masl, with the bus, Conococha is at 79 kilometers south side Huaraz, small highland village, from here we will start biking and first go to Mojon, to have nice views of the Huayhuash Mountain Range, Huayhuash become so popular being the most wonderful trekking in the World, from Conococha the group will bike 7 kilometers in the paved way but in the 3900 masl, flat area, then come back to Conococha and bike down hill until Pachacoto village 3700masl, then turn to the east side and bike along the Carpa Valley for about 5 kilometers to get the famous Puya Raymondy the big bromeliads and strange big Andean plant. Then after to visit the Puya Raymondy, the group will come back to Pachacocto and continue Biking down hill until Catac 3640 masl. Village, then continue until Ticapampa 3470masl, where we will have basic lodging house, dinner and overnight in Ticapampa. Includes: (B) (L) (D).
Day 4: After the breakfast in the lodging house in Ticapampa, the group will aboard the mini bus or 4WD car, and will be taken up near to Huancapeti, until Triunfo, here the group will start biking up to Huancapeti along the Triunfo valley, finally arriving to Huancapeti around 12 m, in Huancapeti you will find a lot of mining remains form 70’s and 80’s because this site was an important mining center of Peru, taken gold and silver, at the same time the group will have nice and spectacular views to the white mountains, then after the lunch the group will continue biking Down Hill. From Huancapeti to Recuay, then continue to the Cordillera Blanca crossing the Santa River to the Canrey Chico village 4750masl and Andean village where lamas are grown or the Andean camelids for the Lama Trekking, here we will overnight Camping. Day 5: After the Andean and tipycal Breakfast, hot Barley coffee, the group will start Biking mixed Cross Country, by the rustic pat for about one hour to get the car rustic trail, always having nice views of the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra, then from a Village called Cantu 3550masl the group will take the easy way to get the Hicuñacocha lake, passing by this nice turquoise lake, the bikers will get the paved highway up to the Querococha lake 3980masl, continuing up to the Conde valley to get the Cahush pass 4450masl, this pass the group will cross the Cordillera Blanca by a tunnel 450meters, then start biking Down hill, by the Tambillos Valley, and get the Mosna River, arriving to Machac village, then Quercos finally Chaivin Ruins and Chavin Village at 3140masl, here the group will be taken direct to the Hotel for the accommodation then go to visit the Chavin archaeological center for about 2 hours, dinner and overnight in Chavin hostal. Day 6: After the breakfast in the Hotel in Chavin the group start biking easy flat area for half hour to get the San Marcos2960masl Village, then continue to Pomachaca 2750masl; from Chavin to Pomachaca is 28 km, easy flat and dusty car trail. Then from Pomachaca the group will start Biking up for about 2 hours to Huari 3150masl, Huari is a province where we can find small hospital, Hostals, restaurants, Internet and public telephones, after to accommodates in the Hotel we will visit the Purhuaycocha, from Huari at 6 kilometers north side, then come back to Huari dinner and overnight at basic hostel. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Huari - San Luis. After the breakfast in the hostel the group will star biking up to the Huachococha pass4350masl. Along the Huaritambo valley, then from the pass the group will have nice views and impression of turning round the Cordillera Blanca range, then from the pass the group will bike down hill until San Luis 3130masl a small village, less than Huari, where we can find basic services of grocery stores, public coin telephone and others. Dinner and overnight Lodging house. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8: Early in the Morning we the bikers will satrt biking towards of the Chucpian river and bike up to Chacas Village 3360masl. Then after to visit this small village the group will continue up to Pompey a small peasant village along the Chacapata Valley, then continue by Potaca Valley, up to the base of the Contrahierbas Mountain, we will get to the Cancaraca lakes for to camping at 4600masl, here we will arrive with a help of our 4WD car, camping overnight. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 9: After the breakfast in the Highland, the bikers continue biking to the Punta Olimpica Pass 4890masl, fro about half hour, in the pass the group will have impressionist views of the mountains of Huascaran South Summit, Ulta and others, and the Black Mountain range, so spectacular, here we will be in the Morning just to have nice vies and contact with nature fresh air, many plants aroma smelling, then after to enjoy the nature the bikers will continue biking down hill fro about 1 hour to Silla then one hour to Carhuaz 2650masl, here after to accommodate in the Hotel the bikers will bike to Chancos Hot-Springs, from Carhuaz 20 minutes, here the bikers will enjoy the hot-springs and come back to Carhuaz fro dinner and overnight at hotel in Carhuaz, here you will find Restaurants, shops, cafeterias and internet. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 10: Then after the breakfast in the hostel the bikers will be transfered with the bus to Youngay 2500masl from here drive up to the entrance of the Llanaganuco Valley, here we will find the National park entrance Control to register in, then drive up to the Valley until the Portachuelo Pass 4767masl, from here we will have nice spectacular mountain Views of Huascaran North and South side (we will be in the east side of Huascaran Mountains), Chopicalqui, Huandoy Mountains, Pisco, Chacraraju, and other nice mountains. From here the bikers will start descend down hill, along the llanaganuco Valley, until Yungay and continues to Caraz 2290 masl, dinner and overnight hostel Caraz, there you will find shops, restaurants, cafes, public coin telephones and internet. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 11: After the breakfast in the Hotel in Caraz, the group will be taken to the highpoint of the Cordillera Negra called Huinchus 4300masl, the group will be taken up with the car passing the nicest Andean village Huata 2740masl, driving from Caraz to Huinchus for 2 hours and half, then after to enjoy the Views of the Mountains such as Alpamayo, Santa Cruz, Huandoy, Huascaran, And other mountains, the group will have a walk taking pictures the big bromeliads of Puya Raymondy, then start biking down hill by other side that we came until Caraz, dinner and overnight hostel in Caraz. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 12: After the breakfast in the hostel in Caraz, we will aboard the bus or 4WD car, up to the Paron Lake 4140masl, then after to drive up for about 26 kilometers and 1 hour and half, we will get the paron lake, and impressive lake with its wonderful green color, with a Pyramid snow caped mountain in the background. We will walk for an hour around the lake, then after lunch start biking Down hill fro about 2 hours until Caraz, passing by the rocky towers in the valley, and full of quenoal trees and small bromeliads, in the rocky walls, impressive waterfalls, then the group will arrive to Caraz around 4pm transfer to the hostel dinner and overnight in Caraz. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 13: After the breakfast in Caraz we will start biking down by the paved high way for about 20 kilometers until Sucre 2180 masl, from here we will take the dusty car trail to Huaylas village 2720masl, traditional typycal village of the Cordillera Negra, with nice histories, green farming areas full of corn or maize, from here we will start to descend down hill sig zag trail until Huallanca village 1820masl where is located the Central Hidroelectric of the Cañon del Pato, that supplies all Callejon de Huyalas with the electricity, then after lunch we will start biking up moderate, passing over the 36 small tunnels along the narrow Canyon, called Cañon del Pato, we will be impressed by the rocky highest wall an spectacular waterfalls of the Santa River, we will come back to Caraz enjoying the Journey through the Canyon arriving to Caraz around 5 pm. Transfer to the hostel, dinner and overnight in Caraz. Includes: (B), (L).
