2008 Availability: 15th June-15 September.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Van-Tatvan. Meet at the airport. Transfer to Tatvan, after check in the hotel, we drive like half an hour to Nemrut mountain and lake. Turn back Tatvan (2 hrs drive). Overnight at hotel. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 2: Tatvan-Kiskili. In the morning we start to drive towards Mt Suphan area, on the way we visit Ahlat open air museum. We carry on driving and after Kiskili village, we walk to our main campsite(3000m). Overnight camp. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 3: Kiskili-Village. We start walking early in the morning. We walk with a light slope till 3800 m and we make a circle around the lake passing little peaks and small glacier lakes and reach to summit which is 4058 m. On the way up we will watch the lovely sun rise on the Van Lake. Descend down to campsite. Overnight at campsite. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 4: Kiskili-Dogubayazit. Descend down to Harmantepe village and meet our bus. Then transfer to Dogubayazit (3hr30 drive). In the afternoon, visit Ishak Pasha Palace, dates back to 17th century. Overnight at hotel. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 5: Mount Ararat. Today we drive to Eli village where we launch our packs to horses and we walk up to our first campsite (3200m). On the way we visit Military base to check out our names and to inform them about our trip. Overnight at Campsite. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 6: Mount Ararat. In the morning ascend up to second campsite which 4200 m high. After reaching to campsite we set up our tents and have a little rest. In the afternoon optionally we can go higher to get acclimatised. Overnight at campsite. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 7: Mount Ararat. We start very early in the morning to get a good sun rise view on the top. Ascending will be hard because of steep slope, and depending on season we will walk with crampons for a while. From the summit you can see Little Ararat, Suphan, Armenian lands depending on weather. Descend back to campsite.
Tea and soup will be ready. Overnight at campsite. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 8: Mount Ararat-Additional Day. Mt Ararat doesn't offer good weather always. Summit is stormy very often so we put an extra day, just in case. Overnight in a camp. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 9: Mount Ararat - Dogubayazit. We pack our luggage and launch them to horses, than descend down to Eli village. Meet the truck there and put the luggage on truck. Drive back to Dogubayazit. After, lunch rest and free time in the town. Includes: (B),(L),(D).
Day 10: Transfer to Van. In the morning transfer to Van. Back to home.
