This nature trip is very exclusive and personalized. The emphasis is on an intensive nature experience in small, manageable camps instead of large lodges. Whether in the camp or en route by houseboat and minibus van, we undertake daily excursions by foot to view the fascinating nature of Chobe and the Okavango Delta from close range.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg. Air transfer to Livingstone in Zambia, where you are greeted by your English speaking tour guide. We visit the impressive Victoria Falls. Here the Zambezi River is 1,7 km wide and plunges 110m over the falls. We spend two nights in a beautiful lodge on the river. Includes: (B, D).

Day 2: This is a free day to indulge in your own activities around the falls: flights by light aircraft or helicopter, white water rafting, elephant-back safaris. Includes: (B, D).

Day 3: A transfer takes us via Kazungula to Katima Mulilo in Namibia with its lively market. We continue along the Caprivi Strip to our gorgeous lodge on the Kwando River. Over 300 bird species make their home in the gallery forest and reeds. In the afternoon we take a boat to our open off-road vehicle for a safari in Caprivi Game Park. Sable antelope and elephant are frequently spotted. Includes: (B, L, D).

Day 4: In the early morning we go on another safari in the park and hike along the tree-lined riverbank, which allows us a closer look at the rich vegetation and bird life. We then transfer to Kalambesa, where we will spend the next 3 days/nights aboard our houseboat. With Namibia on our right and Zambia on our left hand side, we float downstream on the Zambezi River. Includes: (B, L, D).

Days 5-6: The next two days are flexible: We can stop at any time and explore the riverbanks and quaint fishing villages by foot. We float from the Zambezi into the Chobe River via the Kasai channel, which brings us to the Chobe National Park, famous for its giant herds of elephant and buffalo. The chef will prepare an atmospheric dinner beside the campfire. Includes: (2 x B, L, D).

Day 7: We turn and travel down the Chobe River to Kasane. A short transfer takes us to the airfield. In a light airplane we fly to the uniquely beautiful Motswiri Camp in the private 135.000 hectare Selinda Wildlife Reserve. It is situated on a natural channel which connects the Linyati Swamp with the Okavango Delta. Our camp consists of only four comfortably appointed safari tents, each with its own toilet and shower. Therefore if there are 7 guests we cannot offer each guest their own room for the next three nights. In the evening we take a drive for sundowners! Includes: (B, L, D).

Days 8-9: In the early morning we go game viewing by foot accompanied by armed rangers. Afterwards we explore the delta by canoe or Land rover. A ranger is at our disposal at all times. Besides cheetah and lion the rare wild dog makes its home here, as well as the hippopotamus and giraffe. Includes: (2 x B, L, D).

Days 10-11: After a last game walk we are taken to the airstrip, from where a light aircraft takes us to Gunn’s Camp. The approx. 1 hour flight offers fascinating views over the islands of the delta. Giraffes, buffaloes and elephants are frequently seen from the air. At Gunn’s Camp we are accommodated in comfortably appointed safari tents for the next two nights. The lodge also has a pool. In the afternoon an excursion in a mokoro, the dugout canoes used by the natives, is part of the program. The "polers" have grown up doing this and really know the ropes. A game walk takes us to Chief’s Island in a section of the Moremi Game Reserve. Besides buffalo, elephant, lion, giraffe, warthog and kudu the rare red marsh antelope can also be found in this area. The following day the program includes morning and afternoon excursions in mokoros and by foot, e. g. a visit to the hippo pool, home to a family of hippopotamus. Includes: (2 x B, L, D).

Day 12: After breakfast a light airplane flies us approx. 20 min. to Maun. There you bid farewell to your tour guide. Your flight continues on to Johannesburg and then further to your home country. Includes: (B).
