Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Ankara. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel for overnight. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 2: Ankara-Guzelyurt-Ihlara. We have a look at the old city before visiting the famous and rich Anatolian Civilizations museum. We take the opportunity to see the Ataturk mausoleum, where is buried the founder of the Turkish Republic. 4 hours transfer to Cappadocia area via the salt lake (Tuz Golu). Arriving in Guzelyurt, we see the most important site, as frescoed churches and cave dwellings. Then we drive to Ihlara village to check-in pension for overnight. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 3: Ihlara Valley-Derinkuyu-Urgup. Walk in the Ihlara valley, along the Melendiz River. This valley is particularly rich with flora and fauna due to the presence of water. We visit certainly ones of the most beautiful orthodox Christian churches (from 6th and 12th century) with good conserved frescoes on the rock faces of the valley. We have lunch-break at the bank of the river and we continue our walk and visit in the valley. We join our bus in the Selime village and drive to Derinkuyu to visit the incredible underground city (8 floors, going to 87 m. under the ground). Then transfer to Urgup City for overnight in pension. 5h walk and 1 h drive. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Urgup-Ortahisar-Avcilar Valley. In the morning we go for a ramble on a plateau offering a magnificent view on the Uzengi valley. Then we enter in the Pancarlyk valley in order to see the numerous cones and fairy chimneys decorating our path and also to visit the Kepez and Saryca churches for their architectural interest. Following our pathway we arrive in Ortahisar village, an opportunity to taste Turkish local meals. Then we hike up the fortress (a volcanic ash peak) to be rewarded by the incomparable view on the Cappadocia area. In the afternoon we hike in the Avcilar valley surrounded by extraordinary rock formations. Overnight pension in Goreme. 5 hours walk. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Zelve-Cavusin-Red Valley. Short transfer to Zelve, an old cave dwelling village, transformed today in open-air museum. We go on hiking through the typical fairy chimneys of Pasabaglary; some are getting destroyed, and some other have still three "heads". Our picnic is just after Cavusin church visit; the good conserved frescoes are representing the Christ life. In the afternoon, while sun is getting down and is spending its colors on the landscape, we get in the Red valley. This is the most beautiful valley in Cappadocia with its formations and colors. Overnight in pension. 5/6 hours walk. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Akvadi-Uchisar-Goreme. Drive to the trailhead point at the beginning of the Akvadi (white valley). We walk in this valley following an old river (today vineyards). In this valley the fairy chimneys are particularly slim. At noon we arrive in Uchisar village to visit the high viewpoint known as "fortress". In the afternoon we walk in the pigeon valley, called so because of the numerous "pigeon houses" built in the 18th century. Then we drive to Avanos to discover the handcraft of Cappadocia, pottery and carpet demonstration. Possibility to try out a Turkish bath. Overnight in pension. 5/6 hours walk. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: Akvadi-Bahceli-Ibrahimpasa-Ankara. Short drive to Ayvali village, we walk through apple tree gardens to reach the Bahceli village, where we take opportunity to contact with the local population. Tea pauses in a local teahouse. Our walk to Kavak is after picnic in an adequate area. Then we join Ibrahimpasa old Greek village with a hike in the Balkan valley. You will recognize the old Greek style architecture. We visit the village before driving to Urgup. 5/6 hours walk. Late afternoon 5 hours drive to Ankara. Overnight at the hotel. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 8: Ankara - Home. Transfer to airport, to fly back home.

Note: Best season - 1st May 15th December.
