Tour Itinerary:
Days 1 - 2: Sabie.
Pick up your rental car from Johannesburg Airport and drive in eastern direction to Mpumalanga province. Here you visit the 3rd largest canyon in the world, the Blyde River Canyon. Enjoy spectacular views and interesting sites like Bourke Luck’s Potholes, God’s Window and the 3 Rondavels. Inclusive of accommodation, dinner and breakfast.
Days 3 - 4: Krugerpark, Malelane.
Sabie is very close to the Kruger National Park so check-out early and start game viewing as soon as the gates open. Driving around in your own vehicle is possible but the lodge is happy to organize a safari on a open landrover which is not to be missed while exploring the Krugerpark. The lodge is situated just outside the park. You will stay in a luxury lodge with beautiful rooms, excellent cuisine and a lovely pool area from where you might be able to see the wild animals roaming passed. Inclusive of accommodation, dinner and breakfast. Optional: jeep safari in an open Landrover.
Days 5 - 6: Mlilwane, Swaziland.
Swaziland is a very special place to visit, a separate kingdom entirely enclosed by South Africa and Mozambique. Meet the lovely locals and enjoy the stunning surroundings of Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. You will stay in the lodge where the founders of the park, the O’Reilly family, used to live. This place is full of history. Inclusive of accommodation, dinner and breakfast. Optional: horse riding, mountain biking, guided walks, jeep safari in an open Landrover.
Days 7 - 8: Hluhluwe-Imfolozi.
The oldest game reserve of Africa can’t be missed on this trip. You will leave Swaziland in the south and enter KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa. Hluhluwe-Imfolozi used to be the hunting grounds of the powerful Zulu kings. It’s very well known because of the successful breeding program for the white rhino. You will stay in a lovely private game reserve bordering Hluhluwe and your accommodation is a cosy rondavel with en-suite bathroom. Inclusive of accommodation, dinner and breakfast. Optional: jeep safari in an open Landrover, guided bushwalks.
Days 9 - 11: Ponta Do Ouro, Mozambique.
Today there’s another border to be crossed. This time you’ll enter Mozambique, Africa’s diver’s paradise. The coral reefs are beautiful and you’ve got a Big chance to dive with a whale shark, the dream of every diver. You will stay 3 nights, close to the beach in basic but clean beach accommodation. Inclusive of accommodation. Optional: scuba diving, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling.
Day 12: You drive to Durban and catch a domestic flight to Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth or Cape Town. Optional: scuba diving, please tell us how often you would like to dive.
