Tour Itinerary:
Days 1 - 2: East London – Morgan Bay.
Upon arrival in East London you pick up your rental car and drive to Morgan Bay. The Wild Coast of South Africa is still very much unspoilt. It belonged to the former Transkei, Xhosa homeland. You can go for a beautiful walk and get to know the real Africa. Inclusive of accommodation, dinner and breakfast.
Days 3 - 5: Morgan Bay – Amakhala Game Reserve.
Amakhala Game Reserve is a private park, close to the famous Addo Elephant park. You stay in a beautiful old farm house. Dinners are served in the spacious living room and quite often the owners, Tracey and Rodd, will join for dinner. During the day you can go on a jeep safari or explore the bush on a guided walk. Addo Elephant park may not be missed. 3 days to explore the bush and hopefully many opportunities to spot the Big 5 in a malaria free area. Inclusive of full board, activities and a visit to Addo Elephant Park.
Days 6 - 7: Amakhala Game Reserve – Nature's Valley.
The Garden Route, also called the Garden of Eden of South Africa is well known all over the world. Mountains, the Indian Ocean, rivers, rocks and beaches ensure you will not get bored very easily. Visit Tsitsikamma National Park and go to Storms River Mouth or walk a part of the Ottertrail. Dinners are served by candle light in your contemporary 4star guesthouse, owned by a Dutch couple, Niels and Margret. Inclusive of accommodation, dinner and breakfast.
Days 8 - 9: Nature's Valley - Wilderness.
On your way from Nature’s Valley to Wilderness you can visit the whales in Plettenberg Bay. A spectacular boat trip to see these amazing creatures is a very special experience. During the South African winter (June – October) whales can be viewed along the entire coast line. The next stop can be Knysna. At the Knysna Heads many ships wrecked in a different era. The Waterfront of Knysna is perfect for shopping. Wilderness had a stunning beach. The Wilderness Nature Reserve is ideal for a decent hike and also canoeing might be fun. Or maybe it’s time to read a book and enjoy the beautiful view from your deck over the lake? Serendipity is one of SA’s top restaurants. Every day an exclusive 5 course dinner is served in an intimate living room. Inclusive of accommodation and breakfast. Optional: excursion to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, dinner at Serendipity
Days 10 - 11: Wilderness - Stanford.
Make sure Not to arrive late at this beautiful country estate because they know just too well how to pamper you. In the area you can taste cheese, wine and beer. In Gansbaai you can dive with the sharks. Hermanus is a good spot to see some more whales. The Valley of Hemel and Aarde is the place to taste some delicious wines. Bouchard Finlayson is our favorite. Inclusive of accommodation, afternoon tea, 3 or 4 course dinner and breakfast
Days 12 - 15: Stanford - Franschhoek.
Franschhoek is also called the culinary capital of South Africa. Not often you will find so many top restaurants in one street. Le Quartier Francais, Reuben’s, La Petite Ferme, Haute Cabriere and many, many more. 4 days of pure pleasure. Taste cheese, olives or maybe you would like to visit a few wineries on horseback. It’s all possible. Inclusive of accommodation and breakfast. Optional: winetasting on horseback.
Days 16 - 19: Franschhoek - Kaapstad.
Most visitors to Cape Town keep coming back to this magical place. The location of the city, between 2 oceans with Table Mountain in the middle, is rather unique. From every corner you can enjoy a different view of mountains, ocean, the city or all of this.
Not-to-miss: go up the mountain, by foot if you’re fit and otherwise by cable car, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and a journey to the most south-western spot of the African continent. The penguins at Boulder’s Beach are so cute so don’t miss out on those. The amount of stunning restaurants is enormous so and every month new ones open up: Beluga, Five Flies, Den Anker, La Colombe, The Mount Nelson for high tea etc. etc. Join a historical walk through Cape Town’s buzzing city center and visit the locals in their homes in the township. You stay in a boutique hotel in quiet Tamboerskloof, a neighborhood in walking distance of the city center. Inclusive of accommodation and breakfast. Optional: historical city walk, township visit, cooking workshop.
