We start the tour in San Jose, Costa Rica's capital city. We then continue onto the Arenal Volcano, reported to be the world's second most active volcano erupted in 1968 after nearly 400 years of dormancy. It has been active since the explosion and can be reported to have minor eruptions every 5-10 minutes. The volcano heats several hot springs nearby, including Tabacon Resort, which you stay at in out 5-star option a popular tourist destination. After we continue to the Manuel Antonio National Park, a small National Park in the Central Pacific Conservation Area located on the Pacific coast. We tour the park with expert guides who point out the flora and fauna (109 species of mammals and 184 birds) including three-toed and two-toed Sloths, the Mantled Howler Monkey, Central American Squirrel Monkey, and White-headed Capuchin Monkey, Spiny-tailed Iguanas, Green Iguanas, Basilisks, Coatis and many snake and bat species are also common in the park. You also have free time to enjoy the many optional activities including scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking. We end the trip with a 5 night stay at the Paradisus Playa Conchal all inclusive resort on the northern Pacific coast.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Miami - San Jose. Flight from Miami to San Jose, Costa Rica. Upon arrival in San Jose, transfer to your hotel. (Radisson Hotel)
Day 2: San Jose - Arenal. Transfer by private car to the Arenal Volcano, the second most active volcano in the world. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon around 4 pm we will pick you up from the hotel to see from up close the activities of the great Arenal Volcano: its constant emissions of gases, vapors of water and explosions of fireworks. We will then go to the Tabacon Hot Springs for a fabulous and healing bath in the hot springs. Dinner at Tabacon included. (Montana de Fuego Hotel)
Day 3: Arenal. Morning Arenal Hanging Bridges: Located within the corridor followed by birds migrating between North and South America, the trails and bridges of this project will bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, the flowers and the lush vegetation of the primary rain forest. You will be able to walk right into the forest, thanks to the imposing hanging bridges and the beautiful trails that are safe and easy to walk on. In the afternoon return to your hotel to rest. Day 4: Arenal - Manuel Antonio. After breakfast, transfer by private car to Manuel Antonio national park on the Pacific coast. Along the way, stop and have a meal on a secluded beach side restaurant. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure to enjoy the beaches and beautiful scenery. (La Mariposa Hotel)
Day 5: Manuel Antonio. Visit to Manuel Antonio National Park. The 3000 acres of the Manuel Antonio National Park is considered one of the most beautiful National Parks of the country. With its white sand beaches, the abundant fauna, exuberant flora, and its scenic footpaths, is one of the most visited in the country. It includes a wooded area, densely populated by monkeys and raccoons, and three exceptionally beautiful beaches, is one of the few areas in which rare squirrel monkey can be found. The footpaths happen through the secondary forest and of the primary forest, dominated by you hoist them of cedar, raft and mangle. Overnight in Manuel Antonio.
Day 6: Manuel Antonio. Day at leisure in Manuel Antonio to enjoy the beaches and the quaint town of Manuel Antonio, or optional tours available. Overnight in Manuel Antonio.
Day 7: Manuel Antonio. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Liberia. Upon arrival in Liberia, transfer to the Paradisus Playa Conchal all-inclusive resort, your base for the next 7 nights.
Days 8-13: Days at leisure.
Day 14: Liberia - Miami. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home. End of services.
