Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive Douala or Yaounde International Airport. Arrive the Douala international airport; welcome by our representative and transfer to a hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Douala/Yaounde - Maroua - Rhumsiki. After breakfast, board domestic flight to Maroua in the extreme north province; welcome and transfer to Rhumsiki lodge hotel for overnight.

Day 3: Rhumsiki-Waza. After breakfast, visit Rhumsiki village, particularly the crab fortune teller and the coppersmith. If today is a Thursday, drive to Tourou near the Nigerian border for a visit of the market; overnight at Mokolo. If it is not Thursday, the tour continues to the Waza national park via the Koza hills. Overnight.

Day 4: Waza National Park. Whole day at the Waza national park viewing lions, giraffe, elephants, antelope, water hogs, birds, etc. Overnight at the Waza lodge.


Day 5: Waza - Maroua. Visit Oudjilla village perched on the hill before driving down to Maroua; visit the local market and the craft center. Overnight.

Day 6: Maroua-Maga-Pouss-Maroua. Excursion to Maga and Pouss for a visit of the round mudded huts. Also watch local fishermen at work on the Maga dam. Drive down to Maroua for overnight.

Day 7: Maroua-Garoua-Poli. Depart early in the morning for Garoua. Visit the kola gorges en route. Lunch at Garoua before continuing to Poli. Visit fulani and fulbe populations. Overnight at Poli.

Day 8: Poli-Wangai. Depart to the Alantika mountains. This region is famous for the primitive Koma people who still remain one of the most primitive people in the entire central African region. The women use tree leaves as clothes with which they hide their sexual organs. Overnight is in tents at the Lamido’s palace at Wangaï.

Day 9: Alantika Mountains (Bimlerou Bas, Nagamalo, Librou). This day is for trekking through the villages of Bimlerou Bas, Nagamalo and Librou to visit the Koma people. Overnight.

Day 10: Flight to Yaoundé or Douala. Drive to Garoua and prepare to board flight to Yaoundé and later to Douala. Overnight.

* Option 1:

Day 11: Yaoundé - Bafoussam - Koutaba. After breakfast, city tour of Yaoundé before driving to Bafoussam in the West Province. Before arrival in Bafoussam, visit the palace of the chief of Bandjoun. En route to Koutaba, stop for a visit of the Foumbot market. Overnight at Paradise Hotel.

Day 12: Koutaba - Foumban - Bamenda. Visit Foumban, particularly the sultan’s palace and the craft center before driving to Bamenda in the english speaking North West province. Excursion to Bafut to visit the fon’s palace. Overnight.

Day 13: Bamenda - Buea - Limbe. Drive down south to visit Buea, the former german capital of Cameroon before descending to Limbe for the night. Attractions en route include banana, rubber and palm plantations. Overnight in Limbe.

Day 14: Limbe - Douala - Europe. Visit the Limbe botanic gardens and the 1999 eruption site of Mount Cameroon. Afternoon relaxation and drive to Douala later in the afternoon to board return flight back to Europe.

* Option 2:

Day 11: Yaounde/Douala - Kribi. After breakfast, drive to Kribi, the sea side resort town of Cameroon. Check-in at a beach hotel; afternoon relaxation on the beach.

Day 12: Kribi. On this day, you will be transferred to the Lobe river where you will board a local canoe for a boat ride up the river to visit a pygmy settlement. Lunch is a local dish of shrimps just after admiring the Lobe waterfalls just nearby. Return to Kribi town for relaxation on the beach close to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 13: Kribi. Relax on the beaches; overnight.

Day 14: Kribi - Douala - Europe. Morning relaxation on the beach; late afternoon transfer to Douala for return flight.
