Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Depart Los Angeles. You leave for Thailand from LAX in the late evening. (Meals on flight).

Day 2: In Flight. You lose this day due to the International Dateline. You will regain it on the return trip.

Day 3: Bangkok. Arrive in Thailand around mid-day. Our guide will meet and transfer you to the Hotel to freshen up. Then we will take you to dinner and for the complimentary Thai Massage.

Day 4: Bangkok

Today the day begins with a trip to the Golden Buddha Temple. Afterwards you will visit the Reclining Buddha Temple, which features a giant Buddha statue--over 100 feet in length. After lunch you will go to the incredible Grand Palace with Wat Pra Kaeo. This historic set of governmental and religious buildings display the incredible sense of making buildings like precious stones and jewelry. Several unique buildings stand side by side, from the Golden Stuppa to the glittering Wat and the governmental buildings with the English architecture and Thai roofs. Evening: Traditional Thai dinner with classical dances, traditional performances, and beautiful costumes. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Chiang Mai. Today you will fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. There your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 6: Chiang Mai. The day begins with a visit to the Doi Suthep, the ancient temple site. Tnis is one of the areas where the dress needs to be conservative. Afterwards we will take you to the Handicraft "villages" where you will see the Thais make very well: silk, silver crafting, umbrellas, cloissonne, furniture and leather. Visit the Chiang Mai and Tribal Research Center with guide. Evening Option: The Night Market. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: Chiang Mai. After breakfast you will visit the Elephant Camp, see the elephant show and cultural show, take a one hour elephant ride, go on a bamboo raft and learn about the noble Asian elephant and the worker monkeys. You will also visit the Orchid Farm. Evening - Khantoke dinner with hilltribe dances (spectacular show, dance, music and costumes). Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 8: Chiang Rai. After breakfast you will go on an excursion to visit the hilltribe villages where you will meet the Aca, the Hmong, Yao and the Karen (the people with the multiple rings around their necks). Many of the natives have stands with handicrafts, hats, weavings, embroideries, etc. Lunch will be at a local restaurant along the way. Then you will arrive in Chiang Rai and check into the hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant in Chiang Rai. (Dusit Island Hotel). It is technically a 4+ star hotel, but it is quite delightful. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 9: Chiang Rai. Today you will visit the Queen Mother's Home and Garden, Doi Tung. Her home has a definite Swiss Chalet influence. The sprawling gardens are spectacular, with many incredible flowers including some unique orchids. You can eat lunch in the area and return to the gardens, if you like. You have your guide and driver and can decide while you are there what else you want to explore. Then we will return you to your hotel.Includes: (B), (L).

Day 10: Bangkok. The day begins with a drive to the Burmese border, where you can see Burmese handicrafts, silver work, gems, jewelry, and fabric arts, including their incredible trapuntos. Then you will go to the historic Golden Triangle where three countries share a border: Thailand, Laos and Burma (Myanmar). You will see the small Opium Museum and where two rivers join the three nations. Then you will be taken a ride on a small river boat to the Burmese side and stop on a small island owned by Laos. You will then take the evening flight from Chiang Rai to Bangkok, where your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 11: Bangkok. You leave early in the morning to visit the Floating Market. Here you will ride on the canals through an older Thai river neighborhood and onto the actual Floating Market area. You will take lunch at the Rose Garden and enjoy the grounds. Possibly go to the cobra show. Then we return you to your hotel. B Evening option: The Joe Louis Puppet Show.

Day 12: Siem Reap. Today you fly to Siem Reap where your guide will meet you and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to rest and enjoy the grounds. Includes: (B).

Day 13: Siem Reap: We will begin the Angkor Wat tour with Angkor Thom, the ancient city, and Angkor Wat, the ancient temple City. After a mid-day break you will go to the ancient temple of Angkor Wat itself. Then we will take a late afternoon cruise on Ton Le Sap (the Great Lake). Afterwards you will return to your hotel. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 14: Siem Reap. Today we will take you to Ta Prohm and Bantay Srei. Evening option: Sunset view from mound of Phnom Bakeng. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 15: Return USA. You will be flown back to Bangkok and eiher back to the USA, or to an extension in Krabi or Phuket.

Optional Krabi Extension:

Day 1: Enjoy Krabi (the fantasy shaped mountains, a local cruise, relax on the beach, etc).

Day 2: Continue in Krabi. You can be transferred back to the airport for your flight to Bangkok and onto your international flight.

Optional Phuket Extension:

Day 1: You will take a flight from Chiang Mai directly to Phuket Island. There you will be met by the guide and taken to your resort hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy the area. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 2: Free day in Phuket (enjoy the resort area and the local beaches). Includes: (B).

Day 3: Free Day Option: A "jungle safari" which includes an elephant ride, a boating experience, a fairly unique elephant show and elephant demonstration as well as a monkey show. (Option: $35/person includes lunch) Evening option: Fantasy, the excellent multi-media show and dinner B (with option the dinner is included - $35/person)

Day 4: Free Day Option: The Phi Phi islands tour. This all day tour includes a high speed boat ride through the beautiful Phi Phi islands, some snorkeling experiences, beach stops including famous May Bay, lunch on the main Phi Phi island and some time to lounge and work on a tan. Dinner at a beautiful Thai restaurant. (with option the lunch and dinner are included - $45/person). Includes: (B).

Day 5: Return flight to Bangkok and back to the US with a lifetime of wonderful memories. (meals on flight)
