Passing by the many beautiful lakes we arrive at Salzburg, home to the internationally renowned Festival (time for lunch). The afternoon is dedicated to a pleasurable stroll through the old city, where you have the opportunity to experience the colorful history of this venerable archbishop’s seat. You will see the most important sights such as the Cathedral, the Festival Hall, St. Peter’s Abbey Church and its cemetery (with the tomb of Mozart’s sister Nannerl), the Archbishop’s Palace, and the birthplace of W. A. Mozart. A visit to some of the film locations of the world-famous film “Sound of Music” (the life of the von Trapp family) such as the Horse Pond (the Edelweiss song) and the Mirabell Palace with its magnificent view of the Hohensalzburg Fortress completes your tour of Salzburg.
