Guests arrive on their own or optional transfer the evening before the tour in you first hotel.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Late afternoon arrival at the hotel "Kaiserin Elisabeth" in Feldafing to check-in for your overnight. Overnight and dinner on your own this evening.

Day 2: The carriages leave at 09.30 am and head for the Ammer Valley. Through the Natural Reserve of the Weilheimer hardt, we arrive at the farm village of Eberfing where we stop for lunch at the Gasthaus "Post". After lunch, the carriages continue via Huglfing, the fens and moorlands of Grasleiten and Schöffau and finally arrive at the beautiful small village of Bad Bayersoien where we spend the night at the Parkhotel Bayersoien.

Day 3: The carriages depart the Parkhotel at 09.30 am and, using the old Roman Road "Via Claudia Augusta" pass the towns of Saulgrub and Altenau. Beyond Altenau we reach the "King's Road", used by King Ludwig II of Bavaria on his after midnight moves from castle to castle. Hughe forests close to the mountains are on both sides of the road. At noon we stop at the Wies church, the most famous rococo church in all of Germany, and have lunch in the former residence of the builder of the Wies, Dominikus Zimmermann. After lunch, the mail-coaches pass lonely mountain pastures with grazing cattle and herds of horses, all with their bells around their necks, as well as tidy little farm villages with white-washed walls and window boxes full of geraniums. Along the lakes of Bannwaldsee and Forggensee, the path leads closer and closer to the mountains and to the Royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, which finally are towering above our carriages. In early evening we arrive at the hotel "Müller" in Hohenschwagau where we will spend the night close to both castles.

Day 4: During the early morning hours, there is an opportunity for guests to visit the castles. Later on, the carriages leave Hohenschwangau for the Lech river valley, driving along the river reaching the small farm village of Burggen in the early afternoon. Burggen is the site of an annual "Carriage Meet" of the most beautiful and authentic carriages available. Some 150 carriages and turn-outs, from the world of elegance as well as farm vehicles, timber wagons to Royal four-in-hand Landaus, even a fourteen-in-hand carriage are shown. In the evening there is a big folk festival in the beer tent, really worth seeing. We spend the night in private houses and little pensions.

Day 5: In the morning the village is alive with activity, carriages are decorated, horses brushed to top shine, costumes put on, and bands are playing. The big parade (about 5 km long) will begin at 01.30 pm. For our lunch there are lots of stands offering grilled chicken, sausages or wurst, and beer. We'll participate in the parade with our carriages, meet afterwards at the collecting field, and watch the incoming turn-outs using our mail-coaches as a grandstand. In the late afternoon, we proceed about 8 km to Schongau, a medieval town, where we spend the night in the cosy hotel "Roble".

Day 6: In the morning the carriages leave Schongau and drive through forests and moorlands to Wessobrunn, a former monastery town, where all the craftsmen and artists who built the many churches, castles, and monasteries during the Baroque and Rococo time, were trained in their trades. We stop here for lunch break. Two hours later, after having visited the church and the monastery, the mail-coaches continue for the last stage of this tour. We cross the Ammer River and climb up to the hills between Lake Starnberger See and Lake Ammersee to Kerschlach, home of Coaching in Bavaria. Transfer to hotel "Kaiserin Elisabeth" in nearby Feldafing. Overnight and dinner on your own this evening at the hotel.
