Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Palermo - Erice - Marsala - Agrigento
Independent arrival to Palermo hotel. Welcome by the driver. Escorted and departure for the tour of the western Sicily. First stop is in Erice, a small medieval village with ancient Greek origin, situated on a little hill, where it is possible to enjoy a fantastic view on the Egadi Islands and have a nice taste of its typical almonds biscuits. Light lunch at a typical local restaurant. In the afternoon, the tour will continue to Trapani and Marsala and to the Salt Road where will be possible to admire the historic salt pan works where is still practiced the ancient tradition of harvesting salt from the sea. After arriving in Marsala, visit of a local winery’s cellar and taste of Sicilian wines. The tours continue to Agrigento. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Agrigento - Piazza Armerina Caltagirone - Ragusa
After breakfast, independent visit to the wonderful Valley of Temples with the Concordia Temple, Heracules Temple, Giunone Temple and Castore and Polluce Temples represent the most beautiful example of the Greek. Depart for Piazza Armerina, in the heart of Sicily to visit Roman Villa of Casale, famous for its fantastic mosaics. Light lunch in a country restaurant. In the afternoon, the tour continues to Caltagirone, known for the production of ceramic, where it is possible to buy a lot of beautiful handmade products. Climb the stairway of Santa Maria Adel Monte with the 142 fantastic stairs decorated with glazed majolica tiles. The tour continues to the baroque city of Ragusa. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Ragusa - Modica – Taormina
After breakfast, visit of the city center. Then, the tour continues with a short drive to Modica, a city full of fascinating architectural artistic and scenic attractions. Take a guided stroll through the area and stop at the Antique Pastry Shop "Bonajuto," where the Ruta family is famous for its chocolate. Time at leisure to visit the town. In the afternoon, transfer to Catania or Taormina, where the tour ends. Independent overnight in Catania or Taormina.
