Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi. Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Picked and briefed by our company representative and transfer to a Nairobi Hotel for overnight stay. After breakfast, You will be taken for a city tour of Nairobi which includes visit to the Nairobi Museum, Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Centre, and various other landmarks of Kenya. Overnight at Jacaranda Hotel in Nairobi. Includes: (B, D).
Day 2: Nairobi-Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will depart to Maasai Mara passing through the highly agricultural highlands of the Eastern escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, you will have a stopover at the view point. At 2,200 meters above sea level, views of Mount Longonot hundreds of meters below on the Rift Valley floor are spectacular. Lake Naivasha - the highest in altitude of the Rift Valley lakes sparkles at a distance. Descend the escarpment to Narok, a small town on the valley floor proceed to Masai Mara to be in time for lunch at. After lunch relax and have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge in Masai Mara. Includes: (B, L, D).
Days 3 - 4: Masai Mara. Two days in Maasai Mara, Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant). Wherever you go in the Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common. An optional visit to a local Maasai village or on one of the days, you can take a balloon flight over the Mara that includes a champagne breakfast in the bush [extra cost]. All meals and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 5: Maasai Mara - Lake Baringo. After breakfast, depart for Lake Baringo. Arrive at Lake Baringo Club by lunchtime. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Lake Baringo Club.
Day 6: Lake Baringo-Lake Bogoria. Full day at Lake Baringo. This is the most Northerly of Kenya small Rift Valley lakes; creased with papyrus and well developed acacia forest. This is Kenya's bird watching center with 450 of the more than 1200 different species native to the country sighted here. After Breakfast at the camp, take a morning drive to Lake Bogoria National Reserve for a game drive and visit to the hot-springs. Return to camp for lunch. Afternoon at leisure on the shores of the lake. Dinner and overnight at Lake Baringo Club.
Day 7: Lake Baringo - Lake Nakuru National Park. After breakfast, depart for the scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park,a World Heritage Site. Arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, depart for a game drive in the park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, water buck, reed buck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight at Lion Hill Camp or Lake Nakuru Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 8: Lake Nakuru – Mountain Lodge (Tree Hotel). After breakfast, depart for Mountain Lodge. Arrive at the lodge by lunchtime. This is a tree lodge in the heart of the mountain forest. The salt lick here attracts animals such as elephant and buffalo among many others. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Serena Mountain Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 9: Mountain Lodge-Samburu Game Reserve. Depart after breakfast and drive further north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive. The park famous as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, endemic species only found here, reticulated giraffe, the Gravy's zebra gerenuk, beisa Oryx and a host of the big game including elephant and lion. Dinner and overnight at Samburu lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 10: Samburu Game Reserve. Full day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding and guided nature and bird walks. All meals and overnight at Samburu Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 11: Samburu-Nairobi. Depart for Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi time for lunch. Rest of the day at leisure. Brief sightseeing or shopping trips can be arranged. Dinner and overnight at a Nairobi hotel. Includes: (B, D).
Day 12: Nairobi-Amboseli National Park. Depart Nairobi in the morning drive southwards to Namanga a town on the border of Tanzania proceed to Amboseli National Park arriving at an Amboseli Lodge in time for lunch. Amboseli National Park is a landscape dominated everywhere by the glistening, majestic snow cap of the mighty Mt Kilimanjaro - a fitting backdrop to the wild region. This is Africa’s highest mountain – some call it "the rooftop of Africa". It is also the region where pastoral Masai and their cattle have lived in harmony with wild creatures for many a century. Dinner and overnight at the lodge at Amboseli Serena Lodge, located in the very heart of the Amboseli National Park. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 13: Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is known for its abundance of Elephants as well as Hippopotamus, Giraffe, Lion and Black Rhino. The snows of Kilimanjaro, white and crystalline, form a majestic backdrop creating Kenya's most sought after photographer's paradise. After lunch, an extensive game drive is followed by dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 14: Amboseli-Tsavo West National Park. Morning pick up from your hotel. Drive along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway to Tsavo West National Park arriving Kilaguni Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive including a visit to the Mzima Springs where underground water from chyulu hills supplies 250,000 liters of fresh sparkling water daily to Mombasa it is known as the heaven for crocodiles and hippos, Tilapia is the common fish there. A unique underwater observatory tank has been built that gives you an incredible view of this crystal clear underwater world, where massive hippos glide silently through swirling shoals of barbel. Dinner and overnight at Serena Kilaguni Lodge.
Day 15: Tsavo West-Tsavo east. Early breakfast and depart for Tsavo East National Park which has very special features. Here you will find the few remaining Hirola Antelope other wild life including lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes and different species of antelopes. The world’s largest lava flow and the River Galana coursing its way to the Indian Ocean making it a perfect scene for the avid photographer. Lugards Falls which is located on the Galana river where visitors can walk down to view the rapids and Yatta Plateau which is one of the worlds longest lava flows (approximative 290km long) Mudanda Rock, visitors can walk along the appr. 1.6km long rock outcrop, from where you can see animals drinking at the dam at the base of the rock. Aruba Dam across the Voi River and attracts a lot of wildlife and a Rhino sanctuary is also found here. Lunch at Voi Safari Lodge followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Voi Safari Lodge.
Day 16: Tsavo East-Mombasa. After breakfast, depart for Mombasa. Arrive at your beach hotel by lunchtime. Check-in at the hotel with beautiful white beaches and numerous activities on offer, including water sports. Overnight at the beach hotel.
Days 17 - 19: Full day at leisure, full board overnight at a Mombasa Beach Hotel.
Day 20: Mombasa – Nairobi. After breakfast drive back to Nairobi through Nairobi/Mombasa highway lunch en route on own arrangements. The approx transit time, 6-8hrs, transferred to the airport for your international flight back home.
