This tour gives visitors an introduction to mushing and the lifestyle of a Quest musher. You will have a chance to run magnificent trails in silent pristine wilderness. Muktuk has a "Hands-on” approach (equipment and outer clothing provided)
We have very friendly, well-trained huskies & Quest champions. This is an authentic experience of life in the north. Your Itinerary Day 1: Participants will arrive at the kennel at 9:30am and get an introduction to the dogs and an orientation to driving a sled. In the mid-morning, you will head out onto the trails, for a leisurely run along the Takhini River. You will learn how to put on harnesses and booties, how to handle corners, how to brake, and how to change leaders. You will stop for lunch, and you can help to give your dogs a snack. After lunch, you will head back to Muktuk and end your day around 4:00 to 5:00pm. A perfect option for novice mushers who want to try out the sport. (L) Notes:
