Day 1: Departing our office in the morning, we drive down to the escarpment via the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve to arrive for lunch at Sarova Mara Camp. Afternoon game drive in this reserve, an extension of the famous Serengeti of the “Out Africa” films fame. Later return for a sumptuous dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara camp or similar.
Day 2: A full day of morning and afternoon game drives to explore the diverse Wildlife Game found in this reserve-And if you are lucky you will see all the Big Five. Meals and overnight at Sarova Camp or similar.
Day 3: Today drive to Lake Nakuru National Park whose alkaline waters quiver with a flaming headdress of thousands upon thousands of pink flamingos. The surrounding jungle provides excellent cover for the seek cheetah, and it is a common sight to see lions and leopards hanging from the trees, lazily dangling themselves over the deep thicket of bush. Hippos call the lake home and their antics are on the view as they bathe and feed right before your eyes. Black rhino live in the Sanctuary by the lake, sharing their space with legions of monkeys. Lunch will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Lionhill camp.
Day 4: You start early today as your drive will take you across into Tanzania. After customs and Immigration formalities at Nyabikaya border-proceed to Peninsula Hotel in Musoa to arrive in the early afternoon. The day will be spent relaxing in preparation for tomorrow’s adventure safari. Overnight at Peninsula Hotel.
Day 5: After breakfast depart driving through the rugged plains of northern Serengeti as you approach the park from the wildebeest migration area to arrive at Seronera for lunch. Afternoon enjoy a game drive to explore the vast Serengeti in depth. Everywhere there are monkeys, yes birds, always but look closely and you will thrill to see the huge jungle cats, lion, leopard and cheetah, natures, great predators, lying on a tree limb just watching the world go by! Rhino, gazelle, antelope, massive elephants by the thousands. Later return for dinner and overnight at the Seronera Wildlife Lodge or similar.
Day 6: A full day of morning and afternoon game viewing drives as you drive deeper into the game concentration areas. All meals and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge/Ikoma Bush camp.
Day 7: After delicious breakfast we set off for the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Along the way we will stop to visit Olduvai Gorge, where for more their fifty years the Leaky family has been uncovering fossils of our human ancestors and of animal life – this site considered to be the cradle of mankind. Soon after we drive on and arrive at the magnificent Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge/ Kifaru Lodge, set at the rim of the Crater for a sumptuous dinner and a solid evening rest after a most remarkable day on safari.
Day 8: Breakfast, then descend into the Crater in our 4WD vehicles. This magnificent natural Amphitheater contains the largest concentration of animals in the entire world-it is one of the natural wonders of the world-the 100 square mile Crater is a perfect caldera, one of the beautiful, you will never see her likes again. Later we return to our lodge/Kifaru Lodge-relax or enjoy deserved nap before you retire later for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Leisurely breakfast then depart driving through the thick forest vegetation passing through the small mahogany forested, marsh and Scrubland home to over 350 species of birds. Arrive Arusha in time for lunch. Afternoon transfer to Nairobi to arrive in the evening at the end of your safari.
