The reserve offers ideal game drives as well as nature walks and balloon safaris. Traditionally, the Maasai rarely hunt and living alongside wildlife in harmony is an important part of their beliefs. Lions and Wildebeest play as important a role in their cultural beliefs as their own herds of cattle. This unique co-existence of man and wildlife makes this Maasai land one of the world`s most unique wilderness regions.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara. You will be picked up from your residence in Nairobi or Jommo Kenyatta International Airport in the morning and drive down the escarpment via the floor of the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Maasai Mara Game Reserve in time for lunch.
Check - in, freshen up and have lunch. After lunch you will proceed for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Keekorok Lodge/Mara Sopa Lodge in Masai Mara. Includes: (L, D).
Days 2: Maasai Mara. Breakfast at the Lodge. Morning and afternoon game drives where you explore the park`s amazingly high concentration of game. This game reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the moths when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. Dinner and overnight at Keekorok Lodge/Mara Sopa Lodge in Masai Mara in Masai Mara. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 3: Maasai Mara - Nairobi. Breakfast at the Lodge. Check - out and depart drive back to Nairobi to arrive late in the afternoon. Drop off at your Nairobi Hotel or Jommo Kenyatta International Airport.
