Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi-Aberdares. Depart Nairobi and drive north to Kenya s central highlands through pineapple, coffee, and sisal plantations to the lower slopes of the Aberdares arriving at your base hotel, the Outspan hotel for lunch. Transfer to Treetops after lunch.
This world-renowned rustic tree hotel that is dedicated to game viewing, is strategically situated in front of a watering hole and salt lick which attract many animals.Dinner and overnight stay will be at Treetops Hotel. Includes: (L, D).
Day 2: Thompson's Falls. After breakfast, depart the Aberdare Mountains, stopping briefly to admire the 73m plunge of the Thompson s Falls then proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in the park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, water buck, reed buck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 3: Nakuru-Masai Mara Game Reserve. After breakfast depart for Masai Mara National Reserve through the Great Rift Valley arriving in time for lunch. After lunch relax and have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge in Masai Mara. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Full day in Maasai Mara, Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant). Wherever you go in the Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common. An optional visit to a local Maasai village. All meals and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve, the Great Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha. After breakfast depart Maasai Mara then descend into The Great Rift Valley to arrive at Naivasha in time for lunch. Lake Naivasha is a sparkling fresh water lake in the sweeping floor of the world's largest valley. Afternoon will be at leisure, with the opportunity of going on a nature walk, taking a boat ride to the famous Crescent Island on Lake Naivasha, or simply relaxing by the swimming pool. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Naivasha Sopa. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 6: Naivasha-Tsavo West National Park. After breakfast depart for Tsavo West National Park, arriving in time for lunch at Kilaguni Lodge. After lunch, embark on a game drive to see large herds of elephant, buffalo, common water buck, eland, rhino and a variety of antelopes. This is a place full of wild beasts as written by a missionary in year 1849 and the home of the legendary Man Eaters of Tsavo, the lions that preyed on railway workers building the Kenya Uganda railway in year 1900. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Kilaguni Serena Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 7: Tsavo West National Park, Mzima Springs. The full day will be spent game viewing at Tsavo and exploration of the crystal clear Mzima Springs, a favorite haunt of hippos and crocodiles. You descend to an underwater chamber that gives the opportunity to observe the intriguing underwater activities of the duo of these animals. All meals and overnight stay will be at Kilaguni Serena Lodge. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 8: Amboseli National Park, Mt Kilimanjaro, Lake Amboseli. After breakfast, drive via Shetani lava flow to Amboseli National Park, noted for its magnificent views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, arriving for lunch and afternoon game viewing at Amboseli Serena Lodge. Amboseli is famous for its big game especially the elephant herds and its beautiful scenery including the dry bed of Lake Amboseli. Amboseli sits on the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro where melted snow drains down under lava flows to surface in the park, creating a green belt of lush swampland amidst dusty plains. This is home to - lions, cheetahs, buffalos, giraffes, baboons, hippos, gazelles, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, warthogs and many other animal and bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Amboseli Serena Lodge.
Day 9: Amboseli - Nairobi. Early morning game drive followed with breakfast thereafter. We depart for Nairobi after breakfast arriving about midday.
