Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: On arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be met by your Registered Guide and transferred to your accommodation. Your first four nights will be spent in the heart of the Cape Peninsular in the tranquil seaside village of Fish Hoek at A Whale Of a Time. A charming guest house offering stunning sea views with beautiful sunrises over False Bay. An air-conditioned car will be delivered to you late morning giving you the flexibility to explore that afternoon and visit one of the many local restaurants in the evening.

Day 2: Cape Town and Peninsula Tour. This is designed not only to show you many of the important and magnificent sights but also for you to orientate yourself to your new surroundings. To see what the Cape has to offer, how to get from A to B, where to eat, where to drink, where to swim and to answer any questions that you may have. After this day you will feel confident to drive on your own and ready to explore in more detail in your own time. Highlights of the tour to include the Cape of Good Hope, the Penguins at Boulders Beach, Simons Town, and the Twelve Apostles.

Days 3-4: At leisure to discover the wonders of the Cape or simply relax by the pool or on the beach!

Days 5-6: Leave Cape Town and drive to the wine lands where your base for the next two nights will be Franschoek. Your accommodation is in the heart of this delightful town at the Residence Klein Oliphants Hoek. An attractive renovated old Missionary station of 1888 with seven spacious en-suite bedrooms and an intimate, excellent restaurant. Lovely garden with pool and splendid mountain views. Spend these two days exploring the vineyards and stunning Cape Dutch Homesteads of Franschoek and the nearby winelands. A fabulous five course dinner included here for your first night with the second left open in case you would like to try out one of the other excellent places to eat in Franschoek.

Days 7-8: Leave Franschoek for a beautiful drive along the Garden Route to Victoria Bay (approx 4.5 hrs) just outside Knysna and two nights accommodation at Lands End. One of the hidden gems of the Garden Route, a small charming seaside bay with a nice beach and pristine coastline. It is part of the Cape Whale Route and Dolphin sightings are also frequent in the early mornings and late afternoons. Lands End offers you the closest bed and breakfast to the sea in Africa, a stunning setting and a wonderful place to just switch off and relax!

Days 9-10: Leave Victoria Bay for a short drive to Knysna and the luxury and tranquility of Phantom Forest Nature Reserve. Set in the heart of the Knysna Forest with beautiful distant views of the lagoon it is without a doubt one of the most romantic properties on the Garden Route offering very luxurious private tree houses that are quite amazing and wonderfully decorated. You are collected in the lodges 4x4 and driven up the steep track to the carefully designed tree suites - the bathrooms are stunning with one wall all glass and you can lie in the bath and watch the stars - or just relax on your own private balcony, with little fridge and kettle, unseen by anyone! There is also an excellent restaurant and a small 'body boma' offering massages etc. Two nights accommodation here, dinner included for one night and the other you may want to eat here again or prefer to go into Knysna itself.

Days 11-12: Depart Knysna and head into the Eastern Cape making your way to Jeffrey's' Bay. There are various places of interest that you may want to stop on route - for example the worlds highest bungee jump and the beautiful Tsitsikamma forest. It is a beautiful drive to a quiet seaside hideaway and spend two nights at Diaz 15 in one of their attractive sea view self catering apartments only seconds from miles and miles of sandy beach.

Days 13-14: Now for some real pampering as you drive a little further into the Eastern Cape for two nights in the heart of Addo Elephant Park in a luxury tent at Gorah Elephant Camp. With arguably the best elephant viewing in South Africa, Addo is also the domain of the Cape Buffalo, Black Rhino, numerous antelope species and a wealth of bird life. Soak up the colonial atmosphere of Gorah with the assurance of comfort and excellence. All meals and game drives included.

Day 15: Enjoy the morning at Gorah before returning your hire car to Port Elizabeth Airport and catching a domestic flight back to Cape Town or Johannesburg to connect with your international departure.
