Rolwaling valley lies on the original expedition route to Everest and was only accessible to members of these expeditions. Now, people who want to climb Parchermo, one of the eighteen designated Trekking Peaks, are allowed to travel through this area. The trek through the Rolwaling Valley is truly one of the best wilderness off-the beaten-path travel experiences. Since the reopening of this route the small Sherpa villages of Beding and Na are accessible for trekkers to experience the unique and traditional Sherpa culture,
On the approach to the Tashi Labtsa, the northern skyline is constantly dominated by the summit of Gauri Shankar, 7146 meters, which was once thought to be the highest mountain in the world. The upper Rolwaling valley is hemmed in by mountain on both sides with the bulk of Gaurishanker on the north side. Until the village of Beding the valley is densely forested and wild with a lot of beautiful waterfalls. The settlement of Beding and Na are of Sherpas and they are well known among the climbers.
It is here that the notorious and celebrated Yeti is supposed to make his home. Entire research expeditions have, so far unsuccessfully, attempted to find him. Very few tourist success to do trekking in this area, cause of its, covering the mountain terrain of the Nepal-China (Tibet) border, the trail to this pass goes between huge mountains along glaciers, situated in eastern parts.
