Days 1-2: Prague: The city of Prague can be easily explored by foot from your centrally located hotel. Maybe you want to start at the Hradschin (Prague Castle), which is the largest mediaeval castle complex in Europe. Here you will find the majestic Dome, inside there are 21 chapels out of which the St Wenzelschapel with its gem decorated walls is the most remarkable one. Then there is St.Georgskloister where one can literally spend hours marveling at bohemian works of art reaching from Gothic to Baroque. Shrouded in legend is the Golden Alley with its little houses where the alchemists of the 16th century lived and worked. There are many more monuments, buildings, romantic spots and historic places to visit in the Golden City; Prague is a treasure chest for everyone who wants to experience history in a very lively and beautiful setting. Day 3: Karlstejn Castle: Take the train from Prague’s main station to Karlstejn Castle, the ride takes about 45 minutes thru a scenic landscape. Be prepared for one of the most beautiful mediaeval castles in Europe, even the first glimpse will be quite remarkable. Seeing the castle perched proudly up on its hill will take your mind back to the fairy tales of childhood, as this might just be the place where all those fantastic stories took place. Karlstejn is originally a Gothic Castle founded by the Czech King and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, Charles the VI. Although the rooms inside are also worth a visit, nothing compares to the stunning façade and the overall impression of the castle. Take your time walking up the hill to Karlstejn castle and enjoy the beautiful surroundings which also make the visit worthwhile. Day 4: Prague: The tour ends after breakfast.
