Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara.
After breakfast in you Nairobi hotel, we shall depart Maasai Mara. This is Kenya’s leading animal sanctuary and a fascinating wilderness. We shall stop briefly at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint and then proceed for a lunch break in Narok. On entering Maasai Mara mid afternoon, we shall drive slowly as we watch game and admire the beautiful landscape. We shall then proceed to you hotel or camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Maasai Mara.
Today we shall have a full day game drive. We depart after breakfast and pursue the wildlife in different parts of the game park. Be ready to take pictures of lion prides, elephants and cheetahs plus hundreds of other animals. We shall take picnic lunch at Mara River as we watch hippos and crocodiles. After lunch break we shall return to the lodge or camp where we shall arrive late afternoon and relax. Dinner will follow and overnight stay.
Day 3: Maasai Mara.
Another great day in this vast wilderness. We proceed for an early morning game drive to explore more of the parks beautiful game and landscape. We shall be in time for lunch at the lodge and camp. After lunch we shall take a walking safari in the savanna vegetation guided by Maasai boys. Here we have a chance to here more about this great community; their way of life, how they relate with plants and animals etc. At an extra cost you can also visit the Maasai village and see their traditional settings. We shall then move back to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru.
After breakfast, we set off for Lake Nakuru. This is “the biggest ornithological spectacle” on earth and bird lovers will have a field day indeed. We shall have some picnic lunch en-route and arrive in Lake Nakuru late afternoon and check in to the hotel. Depending on time, we shall take a brief game drive along the lake shore. Here we have a chance to see some of the largest flocks of birds anywhere in the world. We shall see flamingos, pelicans, gees, cormorants and hundreds of other birds. Also along the shore are white rhinos, buffalos and gazelles. Then we shall retire for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru.
We have a whole day to spend in this beautiful park. We shall pass along the lake shore for more bird experience. Then proceed to Baboon Cliff where we shall have a brief stop for photography and landscape view. We drive further south and see different antelopes, giraffes and rhinos until we reach at Makalia Falls where we alight again for a break and photography. We shall be back for lunch after we which we rest for the day.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru – Samburu.
After breakfast, we take off towards northern Kenya where unique ecosystems and wildlife await us. We shall stop briefly at Thomson Falls for photography and then proceed for a lunch break at Nanyuki after passing the Aberdare ranges. We have also a chance to cross the equator and see the snow cap of Mt Kenya which lies on the equator. After lunch we proceed to Samburu game reserve arriving mid afternoon and game drive as we head for the lodge/camp.
Day 7: Samburu.
Samburu is a unique semi desert ecosystem which we shall explore today. We shall see most unique animals confined to this zone including Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuks and many others. Not forgetting that we shall also see large herds of elephants bathing and playing in River Ewaso Nyiro. We shall have lunch at the camp/lodge and relax before taking an evening game drive
Day 8: Samburu – Nairobi.
After breakfast we check out and take a game drive as we exit the park. We shall then depart for Nairobi where we shall arrive mid to late afternoon. We shall then leave for airport or check in at the hotel depending on departure arrangements.
