On the journey, we shall venture onto the brown waters of Lake Baringo where Nile Crocodile exist in abundance and the local Njemps tribe enjoy their lives with a real zest. This is a stunning birding destination with some local endemics. From Lake Baringo, we shall visit yet another lake, this time Lake Nakuru. Popularly regarded as the greatest ornithological spectacle and of course i do agree with this and dub it the "Cradle of Birding". Every year flamingos conglomerate here in millions with other water birds and without forgetting more wildlife varieties.
Our next destination is Maasai Mara as we traverse the Great Rift Valley rugged terrains past the dormant volcanic mountains of Emburru, Longonot and Suswa and also past the fresh water body of Lake Naivasha. We are in the Mara for what holiday-makers regard as the ultimate wildlife experience and this is what shall make us be unequal with to safari operators. From Maasai Mara, our last destination is Amboseli. It's big, it's wild yet it's more than just wildlife.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart Nairobi at 06:30hrs for Samburu through the picturesque countryside that is dominated by Africa's second highest mountain, Kenya. We will stop en-route for photos before our arrival in Samburu at lunch time. Settle down for lunch and then proceed for afternoon game drive in search of the "Big Five" and the unusual game of this arid game reserve. Back in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Today after breakfast we shall leave for an ultimate exploration of this natural jewel of nature. The splendid Samburu shall rekindle our safari expectations with more wildlife rewards. Back to the camp in the evening after a visit to traditional Samburu village. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 3: From Samburu, we shall move on to the superb birding destination of Lake Baringo. Our arrival here is late in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Following an early breakfast we shall today leave Samburu for Lake Nakuru national park. Our arrival here is before lunch and we shall proceed straight away into the park for a picnic lunch at the Baboons' Cliffs where these notorious lost "cousins" of ours have dominated their territory at all cost. The views here are breath-taking and this makes the right style of beginning our wildlife viewing. After an afternoon game drive we shall drive back to Nakuru town for an overnight stay.
Day 5: This morning we shall get started early for a long drive down to Maasai Mara via Lake Naivasha stopping enroute for a picnic lunch. Our arrival in the Mara is at 1400 hours where we shall begin with exploring a Maasai Village for a cultural treat. A dance or two shall revive our moods before we check in at the camp. We shall later leave the camp for an afternoon game drive in search of wildlife before coming back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: After an early breakfast we shall leave the camp for a full day game drive. Step by step, we shall scan the plains and the air for our key targets of the day. By this time we should be already be having our list bursting with all the big five, the big seven, the big nine, the bold and beautiful beasts and the mischievous ones! Our drive shall also take us to the Mara River also known as the River of "death and life" We shall drive back late in the evening while enjoying our last game drive to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: We are this morning leaving Maasai Mara for Amboseli and for this reason we shall be leaving early via Nairobi enjoying our picnic lunch on the way. We shall also consider rewarding ourselves with stop-over at the view point of the Great Rift Valley for some photos moment. Proceeding on to Amboseli national park where we arrive in the afternoon as we enjoy an afternoon game drive on our way to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: We shall be woken up by the bush call of Africa as we begin our day with an early sunrise wildlife drive in search of more wildlife and the rare image of the African sunrise. Back to the camp for breakfast and then leave while having our last game drive in the park. We shall stop on our way for a picnic lunch before driving back to the concrete jungle of Nairobi city where this tour ends.
