Tour Itinerary:

Night 1: 20h30 - Depart from your hotel by private coach to Hanoi Railway Station and catch the night train to Lao Cai (soft sleeper with air-conditioning). Leave Hanoi at 21h30.

Day 1: Sapa – Lao Chai – Tavan.

5h30 - Arrive in Lao Cai. The bus trip to Sapa takes a little over an hour and gives you an idea of the impressive rice paddy-fields panorama. Check into your hotel. Have breakfast in town before a short walk as far as 8 km, from Sapa to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai. Excellent panorama of a large valley, paddy-fields and take a small local path leading into bottom of the valley. You can have tea and fruits there and have a rest for lunch. After lunch, continue to visit the Giay people of Ta Van in the middle of the Muong Hoa valley. You will stay there overnight in a local house of Giay people. (or in a hotel in Sapa).

Day 2: Sapa – Can Cau market (Saturday).

Starting from Sapa at 7h30, you will first visit Can Cau market. It is small but extremely colorful, set in mountains near the Chinese border. You can see many ethnic minority tribes going to the market from the villages to sell or buy goods. The Flower Hmong minority is the most common here, their colorful explains their name. You will spend the whole morning there then go to Bac Ha for lunch. In the afternoon, you can take an easy trek to some nearby villages and visit the old castle of the former Hmong king. You stay overnight at a hotel in Bac Ha.

Day 3: Bac Ha market (on Sundays). You will visit this huge market with its many ethnic minority peoples such as the Flower Hmong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen. You can enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before leaving Bac Ha for Trung Do village- inhabited by the Tay minority. Return to Lao Cai. 21h15 - Night train back to Hanoi (soft sleeper with air-conditioning).

Day 4: 5h00 - Trip ends at Hanoi Railway Station.
