Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: San José:
Arrival San José, Costa Rica and transfer to Hotel Grano de Oro, a boutique hotel in a converted mansion. Overnight San José.
Day 2: Monteverde:
Land transfer to Monteverde, in pristine cloud forest, which has an amazing wildlife refuge. Along the way visit the Nectandra institute, dedicated to conservation, research and environmental education in the region. Stay in the Monteverde Lodge, the ultimate accommodation for nature enthusiasts.
Day 3: Monteverde:
Spend the day exploring the Monteverde Nature Reserve with your naturalist guide, also exploring the butterfly garden. This evening, enjoy a sunset horseback ride through the forest. Overnight Monteverde.
Day 4: Arenal:
Land and boat transfer to Arenal Volcano, which can be seen spewing lava and rocks. This afternoon explore the hanging bridges throughout the primary rainforest, one of the best ways to explore the forest. Overnight luxury Lost Iguana Resort.
Day 5: Arenal:
Spend the day biking around the area, before relaxing at the Doña Mireya natural hot springs. Overnight Arenal.
Day 6: Tortuguero:
Transfer to La Fortuna Airstrip for charter flight to Tortuguero, an alluvial plain between the Caribbean coast and inland volcanoes. From June-October it is a nesting place for sea turtles. Tour the village and overnight at the riverfront Tortuga Lodge.
Day 7: Tortuguero:
Take two boat tours throughout the Tortuguero National Park. Evening turtle walks (June-October). Overnight Tortuguero.
Day 8: Private beach:
Transfer to the airstrip for your charter flight to a secluded beach location on Costa Rica's verdant coast. Choose from Punta islita, Latitude 10 or Flor Blanca. Once there, you'll stay in a private villa right on the beach, with all the amenities for a luxurious stay.
Days 9-11: Private beach:
Spend your days on the beach, snorkeling and exploring the surroundings. Relax in the evenings at your private villa.
Day 12: San José / Home:
Transfer back to San José for your flight home.
