A river trip in Nepal is a wonderful way to explore and experience Nepal's natural and ethnic and cultural heritage. Rivers here are regarded as goddesses, and are included in a number of Hindu and Buddhist religious rituals.
The Marsyangdi rises on the northern slopes of the Annapurna Himal, flows east through an arid valley around Manang, and then swings south to join the Trisuli River at Mugling. The Marsyangdi is the most exciting class 4-5 white water in Nepal. A white knuckle trip once your paddle hits the water till your feet touch dry land. But really not for the faint hearted. One of the most outstanding class 4 kayaking rivers in the world. Continuous exhilarating white water with magnificent mountain backdrops. From Kathmandu to Dumre is 3 to 4 hours by bus, depending on the state of the road. Continue the trip up to Besisahar by bus. From Besisahar it's a day's walk to the put-in point at Ngadito. The trip usually ends at Mugling, from where you can catch a bus to Pokhara or Kathmandu. Notes:
