Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: To Murchison Falls National Park (7,5 hours drive). Early morning we will pick all the guests to go to Murchison Falls. Via Masindi we drive for 90 kms through the park before we reach Paraa in the late afternoon. Here we will stay and with a cool drink and a fabulous view over the river Nile the evening will come with all the noise of an African night.
Day 2: In Murchison Falls National Park. This day we have the impressive launch trip on the Nile to top of the Falls. Hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and many birds will be seen! For the game drive we have to cross the Nile, special are here the lions and giraffes.
Day 3: In Murchison Falls National Park. This day we have the impressive launch trip on the Nile to the delta. Hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and many birds will be see the Shoebill stock. In the afternoon we will go to the top of the falls.
Day 4: To Kibale Forest (5 hours drive). Early morning departure for the journey to Kibale Forest. In the afternoon we will arrive at a crater lake where we will stay. This perfect spot is famous for the frogs, at night they will give a beautiful concert.
Day 5: Chimp walk. At 08:00 we will start with the 4 hours chimp walk. Also 10 other primates can be seen. The park is also known for all the butterflies and birds. In the afternoon a walk through Bigodi Swamp (community based project).
Day 6: To Queen Elizabeth National Park (7,5 hours drive). Early morning departure for Queen Elizabeth. Via Kabale and Mbarara (lunch and shopping) we reach in the afternoon Mweya in Queen Elizabeth NP with a stunningly beautiful view over Kazinga Channel. In the late afternoon we will make a game drive.
Day 7: In Queen Elizabeth National Park. This day is for a game drive on the plains of Queen Elizabeth with thousands of Ugandan kobs, lions, elephants etc. Also on the program is a two hours launch trip on the Kazinga channel where we will see all the animals from the waterside.
Day 8: In Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is a second day is for a game drive in the afternoon on the plains of Queen Elizabeth with thousands of Ugandan kobs, lions, elephants etc. Also a forest walk in Maramgambo forest in the morning.
Day 9: To Bwindi (4,5 hours drive). Via Mbarara we reach Kabale in West-Uganda. After lunch in Kabale we travel 95 km through the beautiful hills, sometimes called "Switzerland" of Uganda. In the afternoon we will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the Mountain Gorillas.
Day 10: Gorilla trekking. At 08:00 we report at the offices with the Gorilla permits. This is the day for the Gorilla trekking, the trekking can take 4 up to 10 hours! It depends of course on where the Gorilla family is. When the group (8 people max.) finds them they will stay max. 1 hour with the Gorillas.
Day 11: To Lake Bunyonyi (3,5 hours drive). After breakfast we will drive to Lake Bunyonyi beautiful surrounded by the hills of Western Uganda. With a small boat we will go to an island where we will stay.
Day 12: To Kisoro (3,5 hours drive) of Uganda. The first part takes us through central Uganda. In Kabale we will have lunch, we then continue for the last part. The bad road takes us through a beautiful landscape called the "Switzerland of Africa". We pass mountains, lakes, hills with cultivated terraces and tropical rainforest and bamboo forest. On the last hill the landscape unfolds beneath us, in the vast plane of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo the Virunga volcanoes dominate the view. Down is Kisoro where we stay in the famous Travellers Rest Hotel.
In the sixties the famous American "gorilla-woman" Dian Fossey visited Hotel Travellers Rest many, many times to do paperwork, to relax or to meet people. Fossey said about the hotel: "It was my second home". Travellers Rest, just outside Kisoro, offers a cosy stay for the tourists, who come to see the endangered mountain gorilla. The hotel, built in a somewhat colonial style, and entirely renovated in 1999, has a comfortable ambiance.
Days 13 - 14: In Kisoro. You can go a second Gorilla Trek in Nkuringo South of Bwindi if you want but there are so many other activities in Kisoro such as Climbing Muhavura Volcano, climbing Gahinga Volcano, Climbing the Sabinyo volcano.
Day 15: To Lake Mburo (6 hours drive). Early morning departure to Lake Mburo. This is a small but nice park, the only park in Uganda with impalas and zebras. We will make an evening game-viewing drive.
Day 16: To Kampala (5,5 hours drive). Early morning departure for the journey to Kampala. We will bring you to your guest house, campsite or hotel. If you continue your holiday somewhere else we bring you to Entebbe airport.
