5 Days Gorillas and Chimpanzees: A safari to the rare mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest in Uganda. There will be a swamp walk in the Afternoon in Bigodi Swamp Kibale a community based project. It will enable you to see the other primate you might have missed in Kibale Forest.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: To Kisoro or Bwindi (10 hours drive). Early morning departure. Via Masaka and Mbarara we reach Kabale in West-Uganda. From Kabale we travel 95 km through the beautiful hills, sometimes called "Switzerland" of Uganda. In the evening we will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the Mountain Gorillas or Kisoro to trek in Nkuringo South of Bwindi.
Day 2: At 08:00 we report at the offices with the Gorilla permits. This is the day for the Gorilla trekking, the trekking can take 4 up to 10 hours! It depends of course where the Gorilla family is. When the group (8 people max.) finds them they will stay max. 1 hour with the Gorillas.
Day 3: To Kibale (8 hours drive). Early morning departure for the journey to Kibale Forest. On our way we will cross Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the evening we will arrive at a crater lake where we will stay.
Day 4: At 08:00 we will start with the 4 hours chimp walk. Also 10 other primates can be seen. The park is also known for all the butterflies and birds. In the afternoon a walk through Bigodi Swamp (community based project).
Day 5: 7 hours drive. After breakfast we will drive back to Kampala. We will bring you to your guest house, campsite or hotel. If you continue your holiday somewhere else we bring you to Entebbe airport.
