The life of mountain dwellers is vastly different from one we lead in the city and is worth having a look at. You will reach a maximum altitude of 4100m requiring a moderate level of physical fitness to comfortably complete this trek. The journey begins in the ancient city of Kathmandu, from where a short flight to the beautiful village of Lukla (2800m) will transport you to the heart of the Solu Khumbu region.
The trek continues through the lush vegetation of Sagarmatha National Park, with pine forests, rhododendron flowers and an abundance of wildlife, to Namche Bazaar (3442m). A day of rest is necessary in Namche in order to get acclimatized to higher altitudes. The following days trekking will bring you to the village of Tengboche (3930m), home to the highest Buddhist monastery in the world (4100m) and also reputed by photographers as one of the best places to capture the awesome beauty of Mt. Everest (8848m) and its neighboring peaks.
The concluding days of this adventure will be spent in the delightful and scenic villages of Khunde (3500m) and Khumjung, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the legendary Sherpa people and participate in their astonishing traditional lifestyle. Back down to Lukla from where you will take a short flight back to Kathmandu, enjoying the last views of the awe-inspiring Himalayan range and its people.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Katmandu
Free Airport Pick up Drop & evening welcome dinner at any typical Nepalese Restaurant.
Day 2: Katmandu
Half day guided city tours.
Day 3: Katmandu - Phakding
Flight by small twinottor to Lukla, Trek to Phakding - 4 hrs Height 2652m. Overnight in Phakding.
Day 4: Phakding - Namche Bazaar
The trail cross Dudhkoshi River through a long suspension bridge. The trail further climbs from here to Namche Bazaar at 3480m. Overnight Namche.
Day 5: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day
Namche bazaar is the main centre in the Khumbu region and has shops, restaurants, a bakery, hotel with hot showers and electric power. There is a colorful market each Saturday. Height 3480m. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 6: Namche Bazaar - Khumjung
The route starts by climbing up to the Shyangboche airstrip just above the airstrip is the Everest View Hotel, a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel with great views of the highest mountains on Earth. Overnight Khumjung.
Day 7: Khumjung - Tengboche
Trek to Dudhkoshi along with the famous Tengboche Gompa with its back ground of Ama Dablam, Everest and other peaks. Height 3870m. Overnight in Tengboche.
Day 8: Tengboche - Monjo
Trek goes down to the Fuki Tenga and steady climb and continuous walk to Namche Bazaar. After Namche you are walking descend and reach to the village of Monjo. Height 2950m Time 6 hrs. Overnight in Monjo.
Day 9: Monjo - Lukla
A half day walk about 5 hours walking through the bank of Dudhkosi river and climb an hour to reach Lukla. time 6 hrs. Overnight in Lukla.
Day 10: Lukla - Kathmandu
An early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Evening celebration dinner together, overnight Katmandu.
