This great value budget road safari takes you to Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most famous and finest game sanctuary. The Maasai Mara is the site of one of the most spectacular phenomenon of the natural world -the Great Annual Wildebeest Migration. Fêted as one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World”, the Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe. Over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see the Big Five- lion, rhino, buffalo, leopard, and elephant and not to mention, numerous plain animals. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara:
07:30 hrs pick up from the hotel in Nairobi and drive to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley. Along the way we will have a distant view of Mt. Longonot, Mt. Margaret and the pyrethrum plantations. Arrive at the Masai Mara in time for lunch at Shade Tented Camp. 15:30 hrs go for an afternoon game drive till dusk. July - October is usually the best time to tour the Mara as you may witness part of the annual migration drama when of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Hot on their heels are the predators of the savannah -lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. Dinner and overnight at a Tented Camp.
Day 2: Maasai Mara:
Breakfast at the camp. Take better time of the morning on a game drive. Spend the rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch at the camp, you proceed at 16:00 hrs for an afternoon game drive till dusk. Dinner and overnight at a Tented Camp.
Day 3: Maasai Mara - Nairobi:
08:00 Hrs. After breakfast check out and drive back to Nairobi to arrive around mid day. Drop off at a Nairobi hotel.
