Have you ever thought about seeing a part of the world that is about 4 million years old? What about seeing the distinguished giant tortoises and marine iguanas or adventuring with Charles Darwin? If so, travel roughly 600 miles west of Ecuador’s mainland in South America and you enter one of the world’s most dynamic volcanic areas, the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador. The Galapagos consists of approximately 14 volcanic islands of which certain islands are still in the process of making their formations, while the most aged islands of the Galapagos are over 4 million years old.
Your Itinerary: Day 1: Wednesday - Flight from Quito or Guayaguil into Baltra Island. Meet and assist by guide and transfer to the Itabaca Channel to cross to Santa Cruz Island. Proceed to the highlands by bus, observing the Los Gemelos Pitt Craters. Arrive to the Royal Palm Galapagos, enjoy a welcome cocktail. Afternoon visit to the lava tunnels within the hotel grounds. Day 2: Thursday - Early breakfast, then board a yacht to Sail to Dragon Hill located on the northwestern shore of Santa Cruz Island. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, sail to Rabida Island (Jervis), notable for its nine species of Darwin Finches and good swimming and snorkeling. Back to the Royal Palm Galapagos via transfer. Day 3: Friday - After breakfast, a bus trip to Itabaca. Board the Delfin II and sail to North Seymour Island to see marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and frigate birds. Lunch at the yacht and afternoon visit to Las Bachas, a beautiful coral beach with an interior lagoon with seasonal flamingos. Return to the Royal Palm Galapagos. Day 4: Saturday - Early breakfast. Sail to Punta Cormorant on Floreana Island (Santa Maria or Charles). Your opportunity to relax at the beach or enjoy snorkeling at Devil's Crown. Sail around Champion and Enderby Islets. Lunch on the yacht. Afternoon disembark for a visit to Post Office Bay, mail some postcards at the loneliest mail box in the world, and photograph a sea lion colony. Sail back to Puerto Ayora. Transfer back to the Royal Palm Galapagos. Day 5: Sunday - Transfer to Baltra, for the return flight to Quito or Guayaguil. Notes: Childrens rates are 50% of adult rate when sharing with two adults. Children who are 12 or older must pay full fare.
