Chukotka is the autonomous region of Russia twice the size of Germany. The country boasts a beautiful landscape - thousands of rivers, vast moors, swamps, tundra, and forests rich in softwood that fail to impress no one. In Chukotka one can still find places where no human has set foot, which makes Chukotka an ideal hunting place. The game is perfect, especially around the rivers of Velikaya, Lamutka, Ust-Belaya, Vayegi, Maynets und Yablonya. Far from civilization, you can only get there by a helicopter/aircraft or offroad vehicle specially designed for hard terrain. Moose. Moose species are excellent with antlers measuring in width up to 2 meters weighting up to 40 kilos. The average size is about 1.5-1.7 m, 25-35 kg. The success hunt rate (without a helicopter) is 95%. In Chukotka we don't hunt from helicopters, because there's no need for that. Instead, we rely on truck vehicles, boats, and hovercraft. Throughout September up until October 10, you have a pretty good chance of a classic combination of moose, brown bear and Caribou, provided you stay in one place and don't move camp. To hunt a snowsheep you need to go upcountry, the central mountain region or the hill area 500-1800 m above the sea level. Sheep hunt is done by foot therefore it is important to be in a very good physical shape. Accommodation: wooden lodges or tents. Recommend hunting period is autumn, because locals are on vacation May-September and air tickets are sold out in September.
