Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Lisbon. Jerónimos Monastery and Belem Tower (WH). Commerce Square (Terreiro do Paço) and Rossio Square. Lunch at a typical Lisbon restaurant. Cathedral and Carmo convent. National Museum of Ancient Art.
Day 2: Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Sintra and Mafra. Cascais village and Marina. Cabo da Roca (Cape Roca), the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Almoço em restaurante regional de Sintra. Cultural Landscape of Sintra (WH). Pena Palace. Convent of Mafra.
Day 3: Alentejo. Évora. Cathedral and Diana Temple (PM). S. Francisco Church and Bone Chapel. Lunch at a regional restaurant (local cuisine). Redondo and Vila Viçosa. Ducal Palace and Castle.
Day 4: Alcobaça, Batalha, Fátima and Tomar. Alcobaça and Batalha Monasteries (WH). Lunch at a regional restaurant. Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima Sanctuary. Convent of Cristo (World Heritage) at Tomar.
Day 5: Porto. Porto Historical centre (WH). Port wine cellars with wine tasting. Lunch at a Ribeira traditional restaurant. 6 Bridges Douro cruise. Boavista and Foz.
Day 6: Douro Valley (WH). Solar da Rede Pousada. Vintage House and Cais do Pinhão. Lunch at Quinta Nova (Best of Wine Tourism Award 2007). Vineyard visit and wine tasting. Visit to Quinta do Seixo (Sandeman).
Day 7: Foz Côa – Marialva. Douro cruise with lunch from Régua to Barca D’Alva. Prehistoric cave paintings of Foz Côa (WH). Quinta da Ervamoira Museum (Best of Wine Tourism 2006). Historical village of Marialva.
Day 8: Douro Internacional - Porto. International Douro Natural Park. Birdwatching. Lunch at a regional restaurant with wine tasting. Azibo’s Lagoon Protected Landscape.
Day 9: Guimarães and Braga. Guimarães castle and Paço dos Duques. Guimarães Historical centre (World Heritage). Lunch at Quinta Vinho Verde Route. Wine tasting. Braga Historical centre and Bom Jesus do Monte.
