These programs are for nature lovers seeking a memorable experience in the Amazon. You will learn about the environment, the flora and the fauna, hike in the Amazon rainforest, and canoe and swim in the wild but safe Cristalino River, just to mention a few activities. You will be accompanied by experienced naturalist guides during all activities. Our Natural History Tours cater for all ages, and they are ideal for families whose parents wish to take their children on a great adventure with an educational element. Visitors learn about the flora and the fauna in a very private and special lodge.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Alta Floresta - Cristalino Jungle Lodge. Arrival in Alta Floresta, welcome drink at the Hotel Floresta Amazônica. Transfer to the Cristalino Jungle lodge. Accommodation, dinner, slide show of the local fauna and flora. Library and maps available. Overnight at Cristalino Jungle lodge. Includes: (D).

Day 2: Cristalino Jungle Lodge. Early wake up to observe the awakening of the forest in our 50 m canopy tower. Breakfast. Motor boat up river, walking the Brazil Nut Trail, with a stop over at the "Limão" rapids. Boat down river with engines switched off or canoeing and wildlife viewing. Swimming along the river, by the floating deck or by the rapids, before lunch. Opportunity to choose between walking the "Rocky" trail to the Tree House, or participating in supervised activities with ropes and rapel (including course). Dinner by campfire. Night caiman spotting by the floating deck or in motor boats. Observation of nocturnal life in the forest. Overnight like night before. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 3: Cristalino Jungle Lodge. After breakfast, walk the "Caja" Trail. Swimming before lunch. Lunch. Motor boat up river, hiking the Serra trail and watching the sunset. Optional: Visit the Tree house late afternoon to observe nocturnal mammals. Overnight like night before. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Cristalino Jungle Lodge. After breakfast walk the "Cacao" trail. Boat down river with engines switched off or canoeing. Wildlife viewing. Swimming along the river, by the floating deck or by the rapids, before lunch. Lunch. Boat down to "Ariosto" island at Teles Pires River. Walk the island's trail and watch the magnificent sunset. Return from the island whilst looking for caimans. Possible view of giant otters and tapirs. Farewell dinner by the campfire. Overnight at the lodge. Overnight like night before. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Cristalino Jungle Lodge - Alta Floresta. After breakfast, trip up river to see Hoatzins, a primitive, leaf-eating bird. Stop at the river bank for swimming and picnic (optional) or return for a late lunch at the lodge. Transfer to the city of Alta Floresta. Overnight at Hotel Floresta Amazônica. Relaxing in the beautiful gardens and swimming pool or walk in the hotel's private forest. Dinner. Overnight like night before. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Alta Floresta - Cuiaba. Breakfast. Transfer to Alta Floresta, lunch at the Floresta Amazonica Hotel and transfer to the airport. Includes: (B), (L).
