Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: We will depart on a Thursday, as this market is held only on Fridays, and by the way is one of the very few held this specific day. We will drive along the Panamerican Highway and the Avuene of the Volcanoes to visit the city of Riobamba and its famous Museum of Religious Art. We will spend the night at a local hotel/hostera. Day 2: We leave the city of Riobamba and head to Zalarn, a town where you can still see some bartering held. You will notice how the nearby Indians arrive not only for buying or selling their products, but also to see their friends, relatives, and to socialize. There will be enough time to stroll around the market, which is held on this picturesque village over 11,000 feet above sea-level. We will have a picnic lunch, and then we will return to Quito.
