Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: We depart from Quito, and stop at the town of Caldern, very well-known for its bread-dough figures. Then we will continue on to the subtropical valley of Guayllabamba. We will drive further north until we reach one of the deepest valleys in the Andes, the subtropical valley of Chota, where the African Black influence is very marked. Then we head up to the area of La Paz to take the road to the town of El Angel. Lunch. We will be spending the night at a local hostera. Day 2: You will have a full day to appreciate the pramos, the moorlands, of this unique reserve, the vegetation that is typical at this altitude, the beautiful frailejn, and to simply appreciate nature and hike in this beautiful area. You will be able to rent a bike, or go on some other excursions that can be arranged for you, which can be a visit to the arrayanes forest or to the lake of El Voladero. We will spend the night in a Hostera. Day 3: We will depart from El Angel, to the dry area of Mira. Later we will reach the city of Ibarra, and we will see the woodcarvings of San Antonio. We continue onwards to the market of Otavalo, to appreciate the amazing variety of goods sold there. Lunch. We continue to the Pre-Inca Ruins of Cochasqu, dating back to 500 AD, where its inhabitants left us step burial pyramids made of adobe and burial mounds. Return to Quito. Notes: Price Includes:
