Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: USA - Frankfurt. Depart from the United States on a regular scheduled flight to Frankfurt.

Day 2: Frankfurt - Eisenach - Weimar. Depart from Frankfurt in the morning and drive eastward to Eisenach, home of Wartburg Castle. Visit one of the most important buildings of German history and see the room where Martin Luther translated the New Testament in only eleven weeks. Afterwards, continue to Weimar, a cultural treasure where famous persons such as Goethe, Schiller, Liszt and Richard Strauss lived and worked. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel Leonardo or similar. Includes: (D).

Day 3: Weimar - Dresden. After breakfast, drive to Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony. On a city tour, you will get to know one of the loveliest cities of central Europe. Due to its mild climate, baroque architecture and renowned museums, Dresden is also called “Florence of the Elbe.” See the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger, the Green Vault and the restored Frauenkirche. The rest of the day is free for your own activities. Overnight stay at Park Inn or similar. Includes: (B).

Day 4: Dresden – Wittenberg - Potsdam - Berlin. Today you visit Wittenberg. According to legend, the Reformation started here when Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the portal of the Castle Church on October 31, 1517. Afterwards, depart for Potsdam and the impressive courtyards of Sanssouci Palace, the former summer residence of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia. In the late afternoon you arrive in Berlin. Overnight stay at Econtel Hotel Berlin Charlottenburg or similar. Includes: (B).

Day 5: Berlin. During a city tour, you will see highlights of Germany’s capital, including the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, the Victory Column, Palace Bellevue, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Checkpoint Charlie, remains of the Wall, Boulevard Unter den Linden, and the Berliner Dom. The afternoon is free for your own activities, such as strolling around Museum Island or shopping at the department store, KaDeWe. You may also choose to take a boat trip on the channel Spree. Overnight stay at Econtel Hotel Berlin Charlottenburg or similar. Includes: (B).

Day 6: Berlin - Hamburg. Today you head north to Hamburg. Enjoy all the main sites of this booming city including St. Michalis Church, St. Pauli quarter, Landungsbrucken, Speicherstadt, and the brand new HafenCity, before discovering Germany’s largest port on a typical harbor cruise. This evening is free. You may want to walk in the Reeperbahn, the amusement district. Overnight stay at Best Western Queens Hotel or similar. Includes: (B).

Day 7: Hamburg - Bremen - Hamelin. After breakfast, depart for Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, known for its trade and seafaring traditions. See “Roland” at the market square, the town hall, St. Peter’s Cathedral, and the bronze statue of Grimms’ Bremer Stadtmusikanten. After a walk through the narrow streets of Schnoor quarter, depart on the famous German Fairy Tale Route for Hamelin, a city known for the Pied Piper. Tonight, enjoy a 3-course dinner. Overnight stay at Mercure Hotel or similar. Includes: (B, D).

Day 8: Hamelin - Frankfurt. Follow the Fairy Tale Route along the River Weser towards Hann.Muenden. Delight in the Renaissance style of this small and unique town before continuing on to Frankfurt. Additional stops may be made, weather and traffic conditions permitting. Your afternoon arrival in Frankfurt features a panoramic tour showcasing this traditional, yet modern city. Overnight stay at InterCityHotel or similar. Includes: (B).

Day 9: Frankfurt - USA. Following breakfast and hotel checkout, transfer on your own to the airport for a scheduled flight back to the United States. Note: Optional airport transfers available at an additional cost. Includes: (B)
