Over these next 4 days you will be immersed into the Wairarapa district. This region is lush, green and unique. It comprises of 5 main townships. Discover Martinborough, Greytown, Featherston, Carterton and Masterton. I guarantee you have no idea what lies hidden deep within these towns. Cultures, people, chocolates, grapes, wines, wind farms, horses, antiques, glorious scenery and much more.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Departs Tauranga 9.30am. There will be door to door collection points. Travel to Rotorua and then onto Taupo. Lunch and wine tasting will be at Huka Falls Lodge. Watch and listen to those thundering falls as you sit back and indulge. Onwards we travel to Napier: Here you will get to rest. Boutique style accommodation is provided along with your evening meal which will be at Mission Estate winery. Mission Winery is the oldest in New Zealand. It began in 1851 by Father Lampila and two lay missionaries from France. The first mission concert was staged in 1993 and Kiri Te Kanawa was the feature artist. Day 2: This morning we will travel to Masterton, Featherston, Carterton and then on to Martinborough. Today you will experience the famous Martinborough Fair. These are hosted by Rotary and they host two fairs annually. (This is the second one). The Martinborough Fair is a grand opportunity to publicize Martinborough, Wairarapa and of course the good works of Rotary. You will not be disappointed, the fair will provide something for everybody as Martinborough boasts fabulous boutique shops, crafts people, fresh produce, wines and restaurants. This evening we dine again in style and then retire to quality plus accommodation. Day 3: This morning you get to sleep late. Then we are going to hit the vineyards. With over 23 vineyards in this area, it will not be too difficult to fill in the day. “From Grape to Glass”. – Pinot Noir. This will be an enjoyable, relaxing and educational day. You may indulge in as little or little as you choose. If time permits we will stop off at the famous wind farm. This evening we again rest and dine in style. Day 4: Well its homeward bound today with interesting stops at Palmerston, Bulls, Taihape, Waiouru, Taupo, Rotorua and then back to Tauranga. We guarantee to indulge you en route and return you home rested, relaxed, energized and positive with far more knowledge than when you begun this journey.
