Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Leave Johannesburg or Pretoria in an air-conditioned microbus with an experienced Kruger Park guide. Travel east across the Highveld farmlands and down the beautiful Elands Valley to Nelspruit - center of our finest citrus farms. Continue to the entrance of Kruger Park then prepare your camera and video. Spend the afternoon on your first exciting game drive looking for elephant, giraffe and antelope. Before sunset arrive at your Rest Camp and book into an air-conditioned chalet with shower / toilet and screens to prevent insects. Enjoy dinner in the privatized restaurant / diner

Day 2: Leave camp at dawn for an early morning game drive to look for lions and other Big Five species followed by breakfast. Proceed to a water point to see crocodiles lazing on the bank, families of hippos and birds before returning to camp for siesta or perhaps a refreshing swim. Later, board the open safari vehicle for an evening game drive ( duration 3 hours ) when you can photograph the beautiful African sunset & then using spotlights search for hyena and other nocturnal species. Dinner and overnight at your Rest Camp.

Day 3: Depart on another memorable early morning game drive to look for elusive species such as leopard frequently found in trees. Breakfast followed by a further game drive usually in the open plains around Satara where we often see herds of zebra and wildebeest. Exit Kruger and travel to a Private Safari Lodge where you can expect to find personalized service and a great bush atmosphere - book into an en suite chalet or lodge room with ceiling fan. Approx 16.00 after a quick swim board the open safari vehicle for an evening game drive stopping en route for "sundowners ". Return to the lodge for drinks and dinner normally served around a campfire. Overnight listening to hyena or other nocturnal animals.

Day 4: Join the armed ranger for an early morning game drive and / or bush walk to learn about the smaller creatures including birds. Return to the lodge and freshen-up before a delicious breakfast. Leave the private reserve & travel via Valley of the Olifants towards the spectacular Blyde River Canyon. Visit 3 Rondavels then proceed along the Panorama route stopping at God’s Window and a waterfall - time to browse for African curios en route. Later in the afternoon book into a country hotel for overnight & dinner in the restaurant.

Day 5: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel discussing the highlights of your safari. Pack up and leave for the return journey traveling past rural African villages and orchards in this colorful sub-tropical region. Proceed up the escarpment and stop for refreshments near Middelburg. Arrive at Johannesburg Airport by 16.00 for onward flights or continue to your hotel or Waybury House.

Departures daily on request from Johannesburg or Pretoria. Pick-up between 06.30 - 07.30 at hotels, guesthouses, private homes or Jo’burg International Airport by arrangement.
